Not sure if I'm going to make it in tomorrow or not. We'll see.

On a side note, I was talking to Lou, saying how I just couldn't recover from the 8 sets of 5, he just laughed and said I was supposed to be doing 5 sets of 5, not 8. No wonder I couldn't recover.

I'll give the 5's a shot again, just this time do them right

Hey Travis, a question about what you just posted about what Lou said...if the total reps (with 8x3=24 and 5x5=25) are similar and you are using the same weight (roughly), what is the difference since the total weight volume is roughly the same (6000 vs. 6250)? I'm asking out of curiosity. Do you think it's a time under tension thing, or perhaps something to do with working the speed for a longer amount of time, thus getting your body used to pushing heavy weights fast while fatigued? Obviously I'm not knocking it; I'm curious to know if Lou expanded on it. Thanks, man.

I think it's still both, he just meant to increase the time under tension a little and increase the overall volume a little LOL I just took it waaay too far

Thats what I was wondering when I asked before about keeping the sets the same. I was thinking thats a hell of an increase lol

Nice FP PR! I never do FP with straight weight anymore. I always use chains now...

Done. Still slowly bringing my endurance back up, but my speed was really good today. I did DE work today because we had a group of visitors this weekend so I had them all come in this afternoon instead of trying to do it tomorrow morning. Worked out very well. Great group too! John from Celli's Fitness did very well.

I didn't even step on the scale today because I don't need to mess with my head, but I'm sure its down a little. Finally last night I was able to eat halfway again. Got down a couple burgers and some other stuff, mixed with some nighttime cough medicene, put me out until 11:30am today!! I never sleep in that late haha. I felt so much better though. Thanks again for all the encouragement this week guys. It's been a VERY long week, but today I feel like I'm pulling myself back together. Hope to be able to get back in the gym monday.

Well I finally dragged my skinny butt back to the gym today. Damage report: 252lbs that sucks

    DB Bench

    65x12
    70x12
    80x12

    Wide Grip Lat Pulldowns

    170x10
    190x10
    190x10
    190x10

    H-Rolls

    40x10
    40x10
    40x10
    40x10

Some weird way to shrug that Lou showed me

    70x10 (obviously DB's)
    70x10
    70x10

Done. Just enough to get the blood moving and then shut it down. No need to kill it and lay myself flat for 3 days like I did last week. That was really no fun. Everything feels good, just need to work on getting my weight and endurance back. I need to get up to at least a solid 255, but preferably 260.

*on a side note, while on the phone with chris, my bullmastiff about ran through the window in my living room (by way of launching onto the couch) after a cat that decided to climb the screen outside. Fortunately I caught him before he tried anything stupid

I'll bet that dumb cat is still running!

Let me know if you need anything to fix the window.

I got it off the window before it tore the screen

unless that cat has certain death defying traits, it will no longer be a problem. stupid thing was climbing my bedroom window screen last night. not cool. had to put a stop to that
