I don't know how you see it, but for me it was a great luck, I found this board. I've learned much from many people here, and I'm really grateful.
The most important thing I've learned is that I was overtraining. Without the care of some people on this board I wouldn't have been able to realize this.
This is my case.
If you also think, that someone on this board gave you an advise, which was important to you, influenced you in a good way, what was it?
If you had a good experience concerning this board, what was it?
If you just checked someone's journal, found a good exercise, which you adopted, and worked well, what was it?
So let's hear about your story.
Why are you grateful to this board and its people?

i think that without this board and the help of a whole bunch of people over time on msn id still be curling and benching 5 days a week and wondering why i dont get huyge.
it seems like in bb you never know who to trust. logically youd at first trust on everything the gym trainer says but then you notice that when you try some things on your own you can do much better and it got me interested.
i did not know jack about diet first, or that it even was important in bb. i think i learn every time im on here.
Mostly been able to develope a training split that works really well for me. It's also great to talk to other people that take this a serious as I do.![]()
Thanks for the measurements btw, bigger then mine.but I'll get there. Nice to have someone with simular stats.
big.
i like this as I have listernend and learn't a lot.
i like the help of the people like powerman, makki, chris plus many others.
without there input I would be smaller and weaker.
I hope that I have helped people as well. I may not be the best at giving advice(poor writing skills) but I like helping people as I am such a great guy!.
my exprience - joined gym 10 years ago, 6 1/2 years hard weight training exprience.
mmm.....i've learned tons from here.....most notably how exactly food works in your system, and especially resources for learning that everyone is willing share. it's great that if i'm having issues with the training part, i can find tips on how to change things up from people, and get several different ideas to try out too.
i think that's what i like best, is that the people here, for the most part, know their sh*t, and are always willing to help with ideas that come from both experience and research, and not just info rehashed from some magazine.

Yeah I agree I am lucky to have found this board. I still wouldnt have a clue what the h*ll I was doing. This place taught me to lower my volume and train more intensely, just less frequently.

well, if it weren't for this place i'd of ditched resistance training and would probably start smoking again in its place
I like the differences of training styles and experience of everyone here, along with the understanding of the common threads - the themes that tie all of them together.
We've got PLers and BBers and recreational lifters all sharing information and supporting each other. That doesn't happen in a lot of places.
Squats work better than supplements.
"You know, if I thought like that, I'd never put more than one plate on the bar for anything, I'd never use bands or chains, I'd never squat to parallel or below, and I'd never let out the slightest grunt when I lift. At some point in your lifting career (assuming you're planning on getting reasonably strong and big), you're going to have to accept that most people think you are some kind of freak." -Sensei

I has a blog.
I has a facebook.
I prolly never woulda started deadlifting if it weren't for these board...wait a minute...then i woulda never injured my hammy! B@stards!Actually, there is too much to list, but I think this board has allowed me to overcome my worst habit when it comes to bodybuilding, and that's a lack of consistency and dedication. Coming here and either helping or being helped has kept weight training at the forefront of my thoughts and has allowed me to keep my lazy ass going to the gym on a regular basis.

I'm grateful that Tryska saw me sinking into some mud and that Belial helped get me out.
I'm lucky to have found this and weightlifting at such a crucial age and time in my life. I've essentially transformed myself over the past nine months and the folks of wbb have been here every step of the way.
Except of course for Cack, because he's too rebellious.

"I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord!"

A whole shitload.
I learned a great deal about training, and how much i was overtraining from chris, maki, power, and of course cack (damn kid rode my ass for 6 months).
I also learned a great deal about diet, we got some smart mofos here, doc, wizard, belial, spidey, and i'm sure there are others.
The only person i havn't learned anything from is cloughie, as he is a daft sod![]()
May you be in heaven an hour before the devil knows you're dead.
I am very greatefull to the guy that set up this board. he must be a top bloke![]()
Seriously though, I like what paul said, how we have wide spread here. pl'er's to bodybuilders to atheletes, to dieticians, doctorsTheres not much you can't learn here.
Also this board has been the closest ever community I have ever posted on. I have made so many friends, all over the world so I am gratefull for that.
Also same for training, i learnt to train a little less, a little more intense etc.
Also trust me there is so much more in store!

Just saw this thread now
I am so extremely greatful for this board and its members. Everyone from Dan,Paul, Chris, Yates, Powerman, Cack (ya ya, he used to help me out when he was cutting and pasting) and just someone else whose name I can't remember.
I was lucky that I found the other board while I was still in my first year of training. I met a load of people and then I met this dork named Dan or Hulk. I added him on to icq and we started chatting and he was telling me how he was gonna put up his own board. By the time he put I his board, I learned quite a bit from the old MM vets, but it was when WBB came out and Paul, Chris, Maki, Cack and later on Power that had all those arguments that helped me learn the most about training. I had loads of help from Cack and he cut and pasted a lot of things for me. If it were not for the board, I would not have met Maki either. He has helped me so much that I will forever be in his debt. He (along with everyone on the board) has helped transformed me from a really skinny little weak, muscle and fitness reading kid to someone who isn't as weak and as little anymore and reading books like Supertraining.
To Dan and everyone on WBB, (especially you Maki) thank you so much.
