Nothing for 'em in my gym. I know, find a new gym, yeah, yeah, unfortunately not an option.
Anyways, there are two different sizes of stools that people use I guess to step-up for pullups or whatever.
One is half-way at my shins... the other is right at the bottom of the kneecap
I imagine I should just stick with the latter?
Yeah, right at knee height or just above.
"Fine, if I'm not allowed to light it on fire, can my imaginary friend?"
doesn't matter. The higher up you start, the more weight you use.
On a side note, does your gym not have a squat rack?![]()

hmm...try laying the bar across the bench as you straddle it, that should be decent height. Just make sure to keep it balanced
your gym doesn't have safety pins?
Sounds like a good way to bend some commercial gym bars!!!
A pin pull can be done at any height. Play around with both.

They have a rack, but the lowest pin is a little above the stomach and then there are 2 bars right around waist level.
It's one of those gyms that doesn't quite cater to someone who does rack pulls... or deadlifts... or squats... or good stuff
I asked a trainer if there were some pins I could attach to the smith machine and he looked at me a little crazy

Your gym sounds like the physical therapy room at a nursing home. At my gym there are boxes the trainers use to for aerobics that I sometimes use for various things... they're like 3 inches tall, square shaped and stackable so that might be an idea. Or just find a new gym...
I've been using the stand for the midgets who do pull-ups and that works out fairly well, except I have to adopt a wider stance and a grip that allows for me to not crush my hands on it. The gym is really nice, it's just not for real lifters. Real lifters are minimal compared with the average Joe trying to lose a couple of pounds on the cardio machine or the turds trying to have abs for Spring Break.
I wish I could find a new gym, but they manage to leave out the fact that you have a binding 2 year agreement until after you sign.
