    There Will be Blood

    Any opinions are welcomed.

I personally loved this movie. Daniel-Day Lewis is defiantly one of, if not, the best actors of our time. The story is a full story while being interesting and unique. The conflict between eli and daniel is absolutely fascinating and the music is pretty sweet to boot. I defiantly feel it was robbed of best picture by an over-hyped no country for old men but at least dd lewis won best actor. This movie proves that all it takes to make a great movie is good acting, a good story, and good characters. Im sick of seeing over-the-top productions focusing too much on graphics, twists, and "artsy" camera work.

Sorry for the rant but yeah...please someone out there agree with me...im starting to think im the only one who thought NCFOM was mediocre at best.

I haven't seen either movie, but I want to. My cousin told me that they had to switch actors halfway through filming for the role of Lewis' son (I think) because Daniel Day Lewis was too intimidating for him.

Freakin' Awesome! It was better than No Country, which I also enjoyed very much.

    "BASTARD IN A BASKET!!!"

"I DRINK YOUR MILKSHAKE..... I DRINK IT UP!!!"

He's so good. I can't wait to see it again.

EDIT: I prefer the -4 to +4 scale, and I'm a tough critic.

    There Will Be Blood: +4
No Country For Old Men: +3

Everyone should see both, but There Will Be Blood is much more of a 'film' than Old Country.

I really really liked NCFOM...I've seen it three times
I saw there will be blood last week, and it is probably the best acting performance I have ever seen. DDL was amazing! I also agree that the conflict between Eli and Mr. Plainview was extremely interesting.

By the way, who is Paul?

Paul is Eli's brother. They are twins in the film. The reason for this is because the director realized that he wanted Paul to play eli but they already shot pauls parts so he decided to make them twins and to keep paul out of the rest of the film thus the actor plays eli for the rest of it.

I don't use Bill The Butcher b/c my name is Bill. I am not sure if anything can top his performance as Bill the Butcher, but this was a sick performance in There Will Be Blood. If you like dramas you have to go see this flick, it is f-ing intense and DDL blows everyone off the screen. Simply awesome.

i thought DDL did an amazing job but i thought the movie as a whole was a little too drawn out and lacking in some spots. for a movie called there will be blood i expected a little more blood.

overall, good movie, great acting, glad i saw it, dont really care to see it again.

NCFOM on the other hand i thought was incredible and i plan on buying it the day it comes out. anton in that movie was so damn creepy and i thought the story was incredible.

DDL is fantastic. I thought he carried the movie. If he was not the main actor in the movie, it would have been a subpar movie, but with him as the lead, the movie was among the best of the past years.

I still do think that TWBB was better, but it's hard to argue that it's a better movie to buy. NCFOM is a movie I could watch 10 more times. TWBB is a bit too emotional/dark to watch it very often.

Great movie, I watched it again recently while in Mexico. I saw that the movie was on and sat in the hotel room instead of sitting in the sun drinking.... that says a lot for the movie.

I've seen both NCFOM and TWBB and I thought TWBB absolutely BLEW NCFOM away. Daniel Day Lewis's character was scarier to be than just about any character I've seen in any horror movie. The man was just so competitive he couldn't take ANY insult lightly. The realism of the movie was also incredible.

NCFOM left me empty at the end. TWBB left me as satisfied as is humanly possible. Definitely the best movie I've seen in several years and should have won best picture hands down.

I have heard mixed things about No Country For Old Men. Really haven't heard a negative review for There Will Be Blood. Can't wait to see both.

whiteman that looks like it was made by a USC student (university that I go to, incidentally).

For those of you who have seen There Will Be Blood... you have to admit that for someone to pull off the part of Planview like Daniel Day Lewis did... for someone to be able to act out the part of a (basically) crazy guy that the actor himself needs to be a little kookoo under there.

You guys MUST agree. Daniel Day Lewis needs to be a little bit on the crazy/weird/creepy side to act out that role so well.
