Does Alcohol stimulate an insulin reaction? Like Vodka, not beer I know beer has carbs.
I know it sounds like a strange question. I am on a creatine load. I drink at night and don't like to ingest sugars with my drinks. It makes me feel like crap the next day.
Technically, any drink containing ethanol is alcohol.
Regardless, I have never thought about that before. I did a quick google and here is what I came up with.

People who don't know how to keep themselves healthy ought to have the decency to get themselves buried, and not waste time about it.

I got this from a google search: http://myhealth.ucsd.edu/healthylivi...ersinsulin.htm
Looks like alcohol may actually lower levels of insulin, which is not what you're looking for lol.
Are you asking if you can take creatine with alcohol? Why don't you just take it in the morning or whatever, with or without sugar? You don't by any means NEED an insulin response to take in creatine either.
How much do you drink each night?
Let's start there.
Alcohol is the cause of and solution to all of life's problems.
Just cut way back and then you don't have to worry about it. From a former "fifth a night" party hound, you're better off.

Pro-Choice...ON EVERYTHING.
First off I am 44 (almost 45)....
Second, Thank you for your posts, and I found pretty much the same on google. Nothing conclusive. Ethenol is a byproduct of sugar, and I was seriously curious if it did indeed cause an insulin reaction.
Reason #1: My Creatine load phase
Reason #2: Fear of diabetes
Reason #3: Fear of Diabetes
Either case it looks like I have no worries.
To answer your questions:
Calories are calories right? Vodka ~80cal/oz.. So a pint I estimate is 1200cal
OK so, I have been drinking for years (over 20 years). I drink to what many would consider excess, but to me it is all good. I gain just fine, I cut just fine and I consume the same amount no matter what. I just calculate the calories in as carb AND fat calories. Matter of fact, when I was on a huge gain I drank like a fish, 5th/night (Black Velvet). Maybe my heritage... Polish, English, Irish, Italian, Cherokee.... LOL.
Two simple rules keep me centered:
#1) Never drink on an empty stomach. Matter of fact go to the extreme and eat till stuffed before drinking.
#2) Drink 3x the water you normally would. I consume .5-.75gal water before and during sleep (lol that is to say when I get up to pee I drink another quart).
Yes, I understand the risks and the consequences. I didn't mean to start such an uproar about alcohol, it was a simple question that I could not find an answer to.
Disclaimer: I do not portend to excuse drinking in excess.
I would never recommend drinking more than 1-2 drinks.
I NEVER have had a DUI.. WHY? Cause I am not stupid!... Taxis are cheap!!!!!
To you younger folk:
Don't drink you may end up where I am, alone no friends except street vermin and the occasional police officer that drives me home to that nice place with bars on the windows and breakfast deliverd to you free of charge before you meet the nice man in the pretty black robes.
EDIT: MMMM Chicken!
