Yup. Feel free to do so whenever you feel the need to take a break from weightlifting.

I usually take about 2 weeks off in between routines (Usually every 3 months).

    Seems to recharge me.

It's nice to take a week off from training to relax and let your CNS recover. You might actually come back stronger than if you didn't (hence why powerlifters take a week off before a meet)

The gentleman that was the actor in the Punisher said taking a break helped him immensely.

I know actors are not a good source of info. But if you needed an image of success while taking a break...

I would suggest some sort of active recovery by doing some sort of physical activity. Like tennis or basketball or hiking. Or even just going for a brisk walk or two.

hey im not hijacking this thread but when you take a week off and your on a cut, do you still eat a calorie deficit on the week off? a week is hardly any time to lose any sort of muscle mass right?

^I would just eat at maintenance.

As for the OP, taking a break once in a while of a week can be great for muscle recovery. Stay active though, play some ball and/or swim. You'll feel good to be back in the gym after time off.
