    Shawn Frankl: All-Time 220 Total

I just got back from the APF/AAPF Summer Bash in Chicago. I was helping a friend lift there. Anyway, Shawn Frankl was there lifting in the 220's and had an amazing meet.

He started off on squat and had an easy two with 900+, finishing off with a 1,003 squat.

He got his opening bench easy (766?), then missed 814 on his second, but came back and nailed it on his third try, for an incredible 1,817 subtotal leading into the DL.

On DL, he got an easy 688 opener, then smoked 716 and just got called for a VERY slight hitch on a third with 738.

    Anyway, that's 1003, 814, 716 for a 3-lift total of 2,533 at 220!

That's breaks the all-time 220 record set just 2 weeks ago by Mike Schwanke by 31 lbs!

I got his squat and DL's on vid and will try to post up when I can.

Was it Becca Swanson? You'd probably remember, 'cause she benches 600+!

it was Krystal Cary I just looked at roster i got with my folder. i didn't see Becca there. I was mostly in the warmup area all day and did some liftoffs for my teammates. I bombed with 518 in a loose shirt.

At the dinner afterwards, the general consensus was that he didn't hitch his third deadlift either. Anyway, much respect to a lifter whose subtotal is higher than my total.

Edit: Didn't realize it at the time (I knew it was huge, but not this huge), but the meet also witnessed Richie Briggs hitting the second highest bench ever in the 275 class at 859.

Wow. That must have been in the bench-only portion of the meet, which I missed. Impressive, nonetheless.

True. That hitch call was questionable. If he'd gotten the benefit of the doubt he would have had a 738 DL and a 2,555 total!
