So, I was thinking I would compete sometime in the future, maybe when I can break a 1300 total raw. I was wondering, what is/are federations I can consider joining, and is my current total good to lead me into a solid power lifting career at 19 in the 242 weight class?
Thanks, in advance.

i would recommend competing for the fun of it. you shouldn't worry about breaking records or seeing if you fit in before entering a meet. compete against yourself for PRs. check out http://www.powerliftingwatch.com/node/4421 for local meets in the area and work from there.
There are several great federations in FL. I suggest go watch a few powerlifting meets in your local city/state. This will give you a grasp about how a meet is conducted.

compete just for hte thrill...i love putting on a show infront of the crowd. I like lifting with my buddies that I don't see much beyond at meets adn I love just being on stage. Get out there and have FUN or it's not worth doing.

90* just means you're halfway there to becoming a man!
Thanks for the posts guys. I feel like competing will also give me more of a reason to keep training hard. We'll see. I won't compete until after waterpolo season ends in November of this year, so I have a while to research it.
