I felt like on all my second reps of the speed squats with 325 I caved my chest and came forward a bit. Need to just get the form down. It feels like its been a long time since I have done speed squats (it's actually been three weeks). On top of that I had set up this three week cycle thinking I would just be doing regular box squats. Add in the foam and the weights are a little high. In fact I think i may stick with the foam for a while. Box squats so early in the morning is tough on my back so the foam will ease some of the impact.
So the local meet that I was going to do has been cancelled, so I am thinking of possibly doing IPA Sr. Nationals or wait and see if the local meet is rescheduled and just do that one. I will probably aim to do the Jersey Power Challenge at the end of January.

So I was definetly feeling a bit off today. No PR's. I think that I may have pushed it on the 455 Reverse Band on Tuesday, especially since I followed that up with shirt work. I was going to go for 5 on the 340 to set a PR on the 3 Board but after 3 reps I figured it was best to back off a bit and shut it down. I may also have needed to take a warmup set or two with the 3 board to get used to the board right after using the foam. Speed work was super fast but thats probably more due to the foam than anything else. My whole upper back is fried right now and I really cant figure out why.

Thanks Lones! The PRs have been coming every week and I am very grateful for that. Of course when you start counting rep PRs on a **** ton of exercises it becomes much easier to count them. But progress is progress, right?. On the 2-Board I had no lift off so who knows maybe I could hit 8. But, I will save it for another day. It has taken me 12 years to figure out that training to failure does not work for me.

Or I could just put in my head that DE day is not really speed day anymore. In that case I should have put more weight on the bar. Dammit. I think I need to send an email to Jim Wendler about band tension.

Coliseum Gym is in Glendale, Queens (http://www.coliseumgym.com/). Not exactly close to mass transit but ts a 2 mile drive from my apartment in Forest Hills. It's FAR from LIC. I got away with box squatting and deadlifting in NYSC (with my own chalk) but I was probably a week or two away from being kicked out. If you are in Hoboken and have a car, there are some gyms near you. Skiba's Barbell is one that comes to mind in Carteret.

Thanks for the input. I don't currently have a car in Hoboken. If I moved to Queens or Brooklyn I would probably have my car which would open up more options. I can pretty much get away with whatever I want at my current location, but the clientele and trainers drive me nuts. I had a trainer try to correct my bench form the other day and tell me to bring the bar to the very top of my chest just below my neck. It's tough to remain motivated in there. I might look at some of the more serious gyms in the city like Steele. I'm a skinny little bber type, so I don't necessarily need a place that supports powerlifting. Mainly some place that is cool with deads, chalk, etc. Thanks again.
