So basically $100 U.S. gets me a house, multiple wives, and enough money to let me retire at 21? Whens the next plane?

No that's not how it works. While things are insanely cheap there, it will probably still run you a million ZWD for a fast food meal.

    1.00 USD

    =

    18,681,527,512.36 ZWD

So if its 1 million ZWD for a fast food meal, once you convert your 1 USD and buy a meal you would still have 18,680,000,000 ZWD

I wasn't quoting an exact measurement. I just used some arbitrary number to show him that you couldn't go there with $100 USD and live like Bill Gates. I swear the intelligence on this board gets lower every day.

But still I'm saying that compared to the U.S. dollar I could bring a relatively small amount of American money there and buy a ton of things. A million ZWD isn't worth very much to the rest of the world. Hell its not even worth that much there.

No. You get a lot of ZWD for your dollar, but you need all of them to buy what a dollar would be close to buying anyway.

I met a surgical equipment technican who came up from zwb. A 100 bucks a month buys you two paids who work 7 till 7 6 days a week. To live like a king $500 should be able to do it. Thats per month now so go ahead and save up a couple thousand and go enjoy your riches.

A lady who works at the local store (on base) recently spent the last 5 years building a vacation home in Africa, total cost of a 5 bedroom house on the shroe of a beach with plently of open space around you? $20,000 and thats top notch work. She even paid a overseaer of the operation to ensure everything went to plan.

A lot of poeple look at Africa and see a baren wasteland with plotical problems and massive blood shed, they don't see the size though. If you want the biggest bang for your buck go to Africa, take a trip there stay in the tourist area and it may just be the cheapest trip you just took.

But do your homework before you go, African governments aren't the most stable look for one that would tumble over during your visit.

It's estimated by some reports that more then half the population in SA has hiv. Not to mention massive amounts of violent crimes, including murders.

I agree some countries in Africa are very stable, not all of them are corrupt and broken.

Thing is, there's usually a reason it's so cheap: because no-one else wants to live there. If you're white, I wouldn't recommend buying property in Zimbabwe.
