Question About Squats and Dead Lifts

If I'm doing back squats and dead lifts will that tighten up my butt/burn the fat?

All the exercises will do is build more muscle there.
Hence, having low body fat will make the biggest difference when seeking out firmer glutes.

You can't spot reduce fat. If those two exercises put you in an overall caloric deficit, they will cause you to lose fat and some will undoubtedly come from your butt/hips. But my guess is that those two exercises alone aren't going to put you into (enough of) a caloric deficit to notice a difference, so if you want to lose weight you'll have to diet. Like c3p said, though, they will help build muscle, which may help "tighten" your butt.

I meant it did about the tight part, sorry I should have specified. I'm trying to bulk right now so fat loss isn't really happening for me at the moment.

If fat loss is your goal, cardio will help a lot, but so will eating right. You should track your calories and find out how many you need to maintain your current weight, and then reduce it to a comfortable level and you should see the lbs coming off. That's what I've learned here so far. I'm sure others will have more to add.
