Can I ask why you open raw and then put your shirt on afterwards? Beinga bench specialist, wouldn't you want 3 full attempts in the shirt?

I have been competing this way for several years. I like opening raw because I like making my first attempt and prevents me from bombing. I have never bombed in 14 years competing in bp competition. Sometimes I might have a bad day in my shirt, but I didn't bomb because I made my first attempt. Also, 2 attempts in my shirt is all I really need to do well on the platform.

I think he more or less, already answered your question.
I understand that he wants to lift raw because it's a number he's sure he'll hit. I just don't understand why not lift in the shirt at a number he's sure he can hit. If he only needs two attempts to meet his goals in a meet, how much would he exceed those goals with three attempts in a shirt?
