"Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." -- Benjamin Franklin
I can't open the link now, but I think I saw this on another site at work earlier today.
Hilarious!
Yeah, the winds were that heavy yesterday. Of course, all we got was rain. And really the storm wasn't anything worse than what I've experienced in Dallas in the past. But I've also not been through a hurricane yet. However, lemme tell ya people around here freak out period when this stuff happens. I guess it comes from growing up and going through all this stuff eh? I wasn't really phased by it at all. *shrug*
I saw a guy walking down the street this afternoon with his board and all his gear. I'm sure the waves were great today as well...lol.

omg....
true, it does seem to take the sport out of it, but even though many of us here have strong grips, you gotta admit that it would be tough to hang on to something like that for more than a minute even in coastal gusts, let alone a friggin tropical storm. I find it hard to believe that guy was hanging on by himself through all that.

Just to respond to all of you at once....
In kiteboarding your hands are NOT strapped to the kite. You're actually wearing a harness that is directly attached to the kite itself. The handle for the kite is attached to a cable, but you can let go of the handle at any time.
