I had the spinal injection Thursday. I was expecting it to be kinda' rough from what people were telling me, but it was a piece of cake! Barely felt it. They said it could take up to 2 weeks to get the full effect. BUT!!! Today (Friday) I woke up to very little pain and after a few minutes of moving around I had virtually no pain in my back at all! I can't remember when my back hurt this little! I hope this last! Down side is with my back not hurting I notice more how much my shoulders are hurting. I'm going to see if they can try injections in those to when I go back in a few weeks. This is great so far!!!

Saving some because Pam is going to work me and the boys to death this weekend moving all of the upstairs furniture down stairs so the construction crew can start a major overhaul of the entire up stairs. Making a huge master bedroom from 2 bedrooms (removing a wall). Redoing and expanding the upstairs bathroom complete with an oversize whirlpool tub (great for my beat up body!). And new carpet. It'll be a pain while it's going on but well worth it when it's done. This is Pam's 'dream child'! I won't mind it either! Especially the whirlpool and the extra space of a 30 x 16 bedroom! I can actually walk around things without turning sideways!!!!! LOL!

Pam's been taking pictures left and right! I'm sure that she is bugging the crew! LOL! Maybe I can get her to put some up. I don't know how. I'm 'technology challenged'!

    Squats (Walked out)

(Raw with wraps. Really helped my knees.)

    65 bar x 6

    155 x 5

    205 x 3

    Bench Press

(Raw with feet on the bench)

Note: Didn't have a spotter today. Trained alone.

    Bar x 20

    95 x 10

    105 x 6

    115 x 6

    Green Band Tricep Pushdownds

    2 sets x 20

Had to train alone tonight and later. Just kept it real light and 'got' one in. Just staying in the routine of it for now and taking things easy and slow.

11-9-12 Friday Back Biceps Abs Bwt. 242 (dieting is difficult with all of the disruption from remodeling)

    Green band overhead pulldowns

    2 sets x 15

    Green band low rows

    2 sets x 15

    Mini-band seated upright rows

    2 sets x 20

    Mini-band seated concentration curls

    2 sets x 20 each arm

    Roman Chair situps

    2 sets x 20

    Green band hyperextentions

    2 sets x 15

My lower back and sacrum area is hurting since moving all the upstairs furniture. I didn't get carried away with a lot of heavier back work. Just some band stuff I could stay real stable on. It still felt good to get something done.

    11-26-12 Mon. Bench night Bt.wt. 242

It's been crazy around here with the remodeling still going on. Done a lot of band workouts in the house. Not much weight work. I did bench tonight and did a 245 single; pretty pittyful but the most I've done since the surgery. I'll do some band accessaries tomarrow. Bench Presses went like this:

Benched with 7" tall foot platforms to get the pressure of of my lower back (spine) but still get a little leg drive and stability.

    Bench Press (Raw)

    Bar x 20

    135 x 12

    185 x 3

    225 x 2

    245 x 1 (Best since surgery)

    P.S.

Pam got me my Christmas Present early (probably for the next 3 Christmases). I got something I've wanted for a long time. I got a 2005 Honda VTX 1300 R motorcycle (cruiser). 74 horsepower and shows 130 on the speedometer! It's silver with lots of chrome and looks and rides great! Already geared out with saddlebags, windshield, handlebar bag, footboards instead of pegs and several other aftermarket extras. 1st bike I've had in 17 years and I'm having a ball getting my 'riding feel' back! I'll put Pam on back after I've got my 'skills' back. Can't wait for us to take some bike trips! I've got an awesome wife!!!

I've been out of the gym letting the last round of injections (one in each shoulder and one epidural at the tailbone level) do their work and reduce some inflamation. Seems to have worked very well. I started back monday with light chest, shoulders and tricep work and had a practically pain free workout!!! Then did squat night Wednesday and had no pain again! Even put on some loose briefs (now that I'm down to 245ish they're loose). Just enough hip flexor support but had them on in about 5 seconds. Here's how both days went:

Monday 12-17-12 Bench day (chest, shoulders, triceps) Bwt. 245ish (scales died)

Bench Press (raw) Feet on 7" tall blocks. Relatively flat backed.

    Bar x 20

    135 x 10

    185 x 1

225 x 1 x 2 sets No pain! Just a little popping in my right shoulder!

Green Band around back Chest Presses

    3 sets x 20

    Green Band around back Flys

    3 sets x 12

    One Arm Mini-band Lateral Raises

    3 sets x 12 each arm

    Green Band Tricep Pushdowns

    3 set x 12

    Roman Chair Situps

    1 x 30 reps

Wednesday 12-19-12 Squat Day Bwt. 245ish

    Squats (loose briefs)

    155 x 6

    245 x 1

    335 x 1

    425 x 1

(MOST I've done since kidney removal; and very solid relatively easy reps...NO PAIN!!!! Being patient and not pushing the limits.)

Leg Presses + Calf Presses (Universal Machine)

    570 x 12 + 20

    750 x 12 + 20

1020 x 12 + 20 (Last set was a little taxing but solid and no pain!)

    Leg Extentions

    150 x 3 sets x 15 reps

    Anchored Mini-band Leg Curls

    3 sets x 12 reps

Felt great to have two painless and FUN workouts again!!! I hope these shots don't 'wear off too soon!
