Oh and btw, I'm not a supporter of Mccain or Obama. They both suck.
Regarding his birthplace, there is documentation that he was indeed born in Hawaii.
When things like that go unquestioned and people start regurgitating it as facts, it makes me even more sick to my stomach of the general American public.

And in a search I did, found this in about 3 seconds.
A couple of eRumors:
One says Obama was born in Hawaii before it became a part of the United States and is, therefore, not a U.S. citizen by birth, which is a requirement for being president.
The other says that U.S. law stipulates that if only one parent was a citizen at the time of your birth, that parent must have resided in the United States for at least ten year, at least five of which had to be after the age of 16. The eRumor says that Obama's mother was only 18 when he was born, which was only 2 years after the age of 18. One version claims to be from economist Thomas Sowell.
The Truth:
All of these claims are intentional hoaxes, including the version that claims to be from Thomas Sowell. Somebody simply tacked his name onto the eRumor.
First, Hawaii became a part of the United States in 1959. Barack Obama was born in Hawaii in 1961 so his birth was in the United States, not just a U.S. territory. Obama has posted his birth certificate on his web site. CLICK HERE for that page. Even if he had been born in Hawaii when it was a U.S. territory, he would still be regarded as a citizen. According to The Immigration and Nationality Act, Title III, SEC. 305. [8 U.S.C. 1405], "A person born in Hawaii on or after April 30, 1900, is a citizen of the United States at birth." Republican candidate John McCain was born in Panama and is considered to be a U.S. citizen under the same act. McCain was born on a U.S. military base and both of his parents were U.S. citizens.
If Obama was born in Hawaii, the issue of the citizenship of his mother is not relevant because he would be a citizen by birth. But the law cited in the eRumor about having just one parent with U.S. citizenship applied to persons born outside of the United States (or specified U.S. territories). Between December 24, 1952 and November 13, 1986, the law specified that if you were born outside of the United States and only one of your parents was a citizen, that parent must have resided in the United States for at least 10 years, at least 5 of which were after the age of 16.
The qualifications for president are set in Article II, Section 1 of the United States Constitution: "No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty-five years, and been fourteen years a resident within the United States."
This stupid chain letter crap needs to end. "Obama's an arab, Obama's a terrorist." GIVE IT A BREAK.

Do people actually care whether or not he is a natural-born citizen anyway? I don't see how uncertainty regarding his citizenship could cause someone to not vote for him, and I'm sure that this would get thrown out of court pretty early. I don't see this making any difference.

Mancharian Candidate.

Hawk, the abortion issue is yet another reason, in addition to my capitalistic/darwinistic beliefs, why i could never support Obama and am republican at heart. How can anyone justify taking another human life out of convenience? It's just sickening.
The lawsuit filed in Pennsylvania doesn't allege being born with a parent not a citizen or being born in Hawaii, it alleges he was born in Kenya and thus not a natural born citizen (that thing called the Donstitution requires such to be president). Obama then filed for a protective order so he didn't have to respond and produce a valid birth certificate. All the allegations stem from that book written by the American guy who was detained in Kenya a few weeks ago. If he produces a valid birth certificate the lawsuit would go away but he chose not to answer.
Oh, BilltheButcher - no kidding, I think of that every time I see him.

"Most people don't want to learn new things. They only want to hear about things that validate crap they're already doing." - Mike Boyle
OH, you're an optimist, i see. No no, the truth is, there was never any intellect to begin with. People have never, never, ever, anywhere, widely thought critically about ANYTHING. sure there are smart people who use their brains, you're probably one of them, i'd like to think i am too, and there are lots on this board, but there are many in this world who just dont use the critical thinking switch. and thats why these crazy rumors exist.
But yeah, back to topic- its dumb. Its monumentally stupid, actually.
lol at the drones bickering. Just vote and leave all the imaginary issues to the media. You're not convincing anyone. If you like McCain, you'll feel comfortable with Fox. Obama? watch MSNBC. Any of the actual candidates that could turn this around? You're screwed, and so are they.
As for killing babies, if you don't understand and acknowledge that both sides of the argument have a legitimate point, then you are stupid. Let's keep encouraging broke irresponsible people to raise children and then complain when those children grow up and are on welfare - the republican way!
According to their principles, republicans would have to agree with this. These people are supported by the government, which means WE are paying for these people, which is socialism. You'd have to add paralyzed people as well if they can't hold a job.
The point is that while the principles may be correct, life doesn't happen in theory or philosophy class. Principles don't hold up when people are involved. They don't care whats "right" or what they "should" do, they care whats best for THEM. You have to consider the public good, as in you either pay for these mentally ill/homeless people, or you have mentally ill/homeless people running around on the streets. Same applies for the abortion issue in a less dramatic sense, but it can't really be refuted that bad parenting = bad people the majority of the time.
Another thing they seem to fail to realize is that laws don't work. If people want abortions, the need will be filled and now you just have unregulated illegal abortions instead, and criminalize justifiable behavior. Before anyone goes all "but the democrats..." I do not relate with them either. This is an American culture problem.
