    another DL thread...quick question

    What percentage of my 1RM should i be doing my sets with? I plan on doing sets of 3...no more than 5 reps. My max is 455. Thanks for any help guys.

    what? if you want to do a heavy triple, start with triples and keep working up. if you only get 2 reps at a certain weight, your 3RM was the weight you did before that.

    don't pay attention to percentages. they are just a guideline. it dosen't have to be exact, just lift it!

    i was just trying to get a genreal idea is the reason i mention percentages

    In short... it depends.

    You won't do the same percentage doing 10 triples as you would doing 3 triples. Sometimes you will want to go heavy, sometimes you want to take your foot off the gas.
