It's been 7 years now to the day. On December 13, 2001, the world lost one of the most influential musical minds of a generation. Chuck Schuldiner, founder of the bands Death and Control Denied, died of brain cancer.

He was denied a possible life saving surgery because his medical insurance wouldn't pay for it and his family wasn't able to raise the money in time for the surgery to be effective.
