jeez, it's just a headline! it was supposed to generate sensationalism and interest, like "man gives birth....... to a new invention."

anyway, read the thing again, cuz it does explain that u can change adipose directly into muscle.

did anybody read what it said? fat contains stem cells, aka embryonic cells, which are the cells from ova. these cells differentiate into other cells, like nerve cells and muscle cells. to summarize it all, ppl can use their own adipose to repair organs, like from old age, or cartilage, which is good for us lifters with joint problems. stem cells can differentiate into muscle cells. however, the q now is application. i just brought it up cuz it's pretty different to hear that having extreme amounts of fat can be beneficial.

    jeez, forget it. read this

    http://content.health.msn.com/conten...cle/1728.75913

for those who judge b4 reading the article:
genetically altered mice lack an enzyme which regulates fat metabolism. these mice eat more, but are smaller and have half the bf of wild types. plus, their apetite never becomes satiated, because fat metabolism leaves a chemical that satiates (ie. cholecistokinins (sp?) or CCK). scientists hope to use this discovery to make anti-enzymes to help obese ppl.

what do u guys think? should they do it? the good: obesity will go down. the bad: like steroids, some ppl would abuse its use, especially kids who think they're fat. fat has it's roles, like energy and muscle building.

They are trying to get stem cells from the fat. An individual cannot turn his or her own fat into muscle, that is a totally different thing than what this article is talking about.
