Hi Guys,
I finished about 5 months on SS and I basically maxed out everything or am pretty much close to, besides my bench press, I was wondering what program to go on after doing this program besides the 5x5 program.
I was thinking maybe 20 rep squats, up your bench in 30lbs (my bench is terrible, I havent progressed much within the 5 months I had doing SS on it), any other suggestions?
Thanks
why not madcows 5x5?
The Texas Method is similar, and that's what I did.

If you look around in the journals you could find a few different ways. Here is how I do it at the moment..
Monday
Squat 5X5
Bench 5X5
Row 5X5 (most would Power Clean instead)
Dips 3 sets
Abs 3 sets (if I feel like it)
Wednesday
Front Squat 3X3 or 2X5
OH Press 3X5
Pull/Chin Up 3 sets
Calves (I added this in)
Friday 1 heavy set of a singe, double, triple or even 5 reps
Squat (every 2 or 3 weeks I will do a 20 rep set)
Bench Press
Dead Lift
you could throw in an accessory here, I started doing light SLDL's
Abs 3 sets

Goals: 495 -315 -585

There's no such thing as a "best" or "perfect" routine. People really need to get over the notion that there's a magical routine out there. Any decent routine done with enough consistancy, and applied effort will yeild results if done for long enough.
Since you're interested in trying a 20 rep squat program you should check out the book Super Squats by Randall J. Strossen. I believe it's the original "squats and milk" program. I'm sure the jist of the routine could be found on this site if you're looking to get started right away or aren't inclined to read a book. But as I'm finding out with Starting Strength right now (I'm halfway through it) the actual book is well worth the investment of time and money involved due to the enormous amount of detailed information given.
Happy lifting.

It is currently a fad, at this writing, for boys to think they need a "six pack", although most of them don't have an ice chest to put it in.
