I was thinking of adding in 2 x 30 min cardio sessions in to my routine straight after my push and pull days...
Do you think this would be beneficial or not ?
I remember Paul saying thet it actually helped him gain, and although my number one priority is mass, I AM at 15% and a bit lower would be nice..
BUT I figure the a 30 min low intensity cardio session would not even burn 200 cal's ! So whats the point ?
Also this would delay my post training meal to 45 mins after my workout ? Could this actually cost me gains ?
What advanatages are there to me for doing it apart from general health..
If you are bulking or training for weight do you do cardio ?

I asked this question a few weeks ago.
Losing fat is associated with calorie deficit. If you're bulking and not in deficit, then you will just slow your gains.

Hulk - I've found that cardio right after my workout hinders muscle gain. I choose to do cardio on days off from the gym, or early in the morning, 12 hours before I plan on touching any weights.
Delaying your post workout meal with cardio is not wise if you are in search of mass. I would suggest losing fat via diet instead of with cardio. Dieting doesn't deplete glycogen stores nor does it keep you from eating directly after working out like cardio may.
Remember, cardio not only burns calories as you are doing it, it speeds up the metabolism for several hours following the workout.

I just do cardio when I'm trying to cut up or get lean. When the seasons dont cause me to be taking off my shirt(winter) I don't even touch a treadmill or do any cardio. The intensity of my workouts burn enough calories and leave me sweating by themselves.
Gino is right I too found that cardio after a workout hindered my gains. My glycogen stores needed refueling and cardio was not the best way to do this (of course).
I think the two should never meet.

Hey Hulk.
The best workout program I ever have followed, was a program with 3 heavy weight days and 3 cardio days a week. I dit the heavy basis, and 45 min of relative high intensity cardio on the stationary bike. It will make you ripped and it actually made me stronger and more muscular. Give it a try!

ok I guess cardio after a workout is a no no then...
I think for the time being I will try and get 2 20 min runs in on my off days...
Cheers for the advice !
I'm going to start cardio the next week but only on off days. 3 x 40 and diet for one month.
Promise to tell you the results.
Keep pumping !
Do it first thing in the morning! it should help clear your mind and give you a more producitve day, besides the other benifits
Hulk, if you have to do it on your weight training days, it's better to do it before weight training.
