working abs/obs/es
is so extremely boring. I always feel too lazy to do it.......
somebody convince me of the necessity.....
Chris Mason told me once that it was worth while doing when cutting but not when bulking. i dont understand that....
Here it is. No matter how big, how huge, how massive you get...your package will never be totally complete until you have strong abs. You will be just another guy that looks like he only works chest and bis. That is the truth.
If you get cut and have no abs you will be a lean guy that is lacking something that you are supposed to have.
Having the "TOTAL PACKAGE" is what BBing is about. Case closed!!!!!

sigh...
its just that
*working midsection has such small rom
*you need to lie down
*you get a weight onto your chest
your point is right on tho.
Strong abs can help your squat (if that's where any problem lies.)
It's good to keep all the chain-links strong.

I have been training my abs, but not enough. If you want to be strong, it is imperative to have a strong midsection!

"your package will never be totally complete"
I already have a big package.
I do abs twice a week and i still find it boring no matter what i change. Standing abs on the high pulley have lots of ROM and hit the hip flexors too as a added bonus. For oblques i just do side bends and more side bends and, well you get the idea.
One arm deadlifts *looks at latty might be good for the obliques

Powerlifting Westside Style
I know of a few people at my old gym that followed the core training philosophy. It basically centers all training around abs/lower back exercises. Interesting methodology, not exactly one I'd like to follow.
That being said, I know a body builder that doesn't train his abs at all (and he's got like an 8 pack). Of course, he also has like < 5% body fat and probably superior genetics...
