Spare skin
I have lost 5 stone in weight over the last 15 months but now have the problem that i have a lot of spare skin especially around my stomach area.
Does anyone know of any creams etc which can shrink the skin so that it doesnt sagg and crease up?

I dunno mine has gotten better abit over time, i still may need surgery or whatevers, but its getting tighter. So time is a big key!

If you were very fat for a long time, the skin's elasticity wore out, kinda like if there is a rubber band that has been around something for years, it will no longer shrink down. I had this problem. I lost like 45lbs in a year and a half and I still have the skin to remember it by. Unless I gain about 6 inches around my waist in rock hard abs and lower back, its going to be there for a while.
I think that the only way to really get rid of it is surgery.

i lost 40lbs and i got some skin hangin off my rear end. i do plan on getting surgery to tighten my skin up before i decide to start competing

I have dropped 95lbs since april of 2001. I am 5'4" and weighed 250 and now am at 155. I also have a ton of extra skin and have been thinking about surgery but am curious to its price tag? Anyone know?

I guess I'll just have to call around town and check into it... But I don't know if i will end up getting it done in the near future being I finally talked my mother into splitting the cost of lasik with me. I'm only 18 I figure I might as well give my skin a shot at it since I am still young, but I was huge so I doubt that is happening.

I got it priced, it was 8 grand, just for the tummy skin removal. It's pricey!

If I need it done it will be happening at the end of this yr prolly. I am not gonna do all this hard work to have extra skin being in the way of me feeling in shape. 8 G is nothing to spend on a lifetime of feeling good about myself. Some people spend that on Cigs and alky in 2-3 yrs.

Yeah I see your point... I'm still young and I have a lot of work to do before I would consider it a waste. I still am at 12% body fat which is great compared to 33%... Once I get to about 8% ill look into it..
I know I will end up needing it because i'm not really wanting to get bulked up .. i went from 49% body fat and I am at 21.3 right now. I think I would like to be 16. We will see how I look. BUt I want aflat tummy without extra skin LOL

Damn...lots of former biggies here.
I was 200lbs, 29%bf at 5'5". Lost 65 of that, and I was really skinny, but no muscle really.
I've put on 20lbs of pure, raw, shapeless mass and its got me nothing but hungry for more. More muscle, and more food.
Damn I love eating. This just gives me an excue.

well the name of the forums sorta doesnt sound right to me =/
i dont wanna be big! haha... I have dropped 15 lbs since the last time i checked my body fat so i need to do it again soon... maybe ill go do it tommorow morning.
i am basically aimming to me lean and mean more than bulk and i think the only way i will ever accomplish that is skin surgery.. i talked to my mother about it and she said give it some time first and maybe we will work in into a college graduation present.. lets see

Yeah my rents jsut sold a house so they are gonna help me out with the surgery and maybe implants if i loose anymore breast tissue

When it comes down to it I always do things for me no matter what!!!! Still I tend to worry what others think, this is a fairly recent thing.

i dont really think that creams can help in decreasing the spare skin. ive heard of people having surgury to get rid of it, but doesnt spare skin sometimes lead to strech marks like when a person gains fat or muscle to quickly?

yesterday i met a guy who had his stomach stapled in order to lose weight. last year he was about 350, now he's at ~170 or so... the excess skin is absolutely terrible though and he still looks overweight.
