Little upset tonight. Worked up to 455 on the bench with no pain. Used a different setup with my feet out in front to take stress off the groin. 515 wouldn't go. Was supposed to have 515 for 3x1 tonight. Instead of finding a way to work around it I just immersed myself in coaching. Forgot about it till the end of the night and then got upset about it again.
I can't let myself just take nights off like this. I need to find a way to work around this for the next week or two without letting it get in my head and letting myself give up. It was a stupid decision tonight and I should have pushed harder and figured out something else I could do to make progress.
Did you move your feet out after the 455? Consider this a lesson learned. Come back next week and fight through it.

Sorry to hear the groin kept you back...and just after the fu*king deload. You cant deviate for a week or two with floor pressing or something that takes the legs out of it?
Tone, if you would be able to help me in any way in terms of programming/training I would be more than grateful. I have only been powerlifting for, well arguably only a year and I only have one official total. I would be all ears. I mean I would do what I am asked to without question. I have a WPC/BPC qualifier on the 14th April and hopefully then a Push/Pull at the Bodypower Expo on 18th May (Invitation only. An Arnold type deal). These obviously wouldnt be any use in terms of anything meaningful but I then have nationals in September nothing in between which would allow for a good 12-14 weeks training cycle. I understand that something like this takes time and you have your own crew to worry about so honestly, ANYTHING at all would be well received and utilised.

Coaching each other as lifters is important Buy we can't allow it to distract you from moving forward with our own training..Work around this injury just like I'm sure you have worked around 100s of other injuries in yOur lifting career. Role with the punches. If something hurts moderately and it doesn't feel like its going to get whorse by doing that
Movement then do it. If not switch to a similar movement that you can do without pain..when your dreading doing a movement because it hurts it generally does more harm then good because in your mind yOur already anticipating the pain.. Switch to a similar movement for a week or 2. Trust me your not going to loose anything off your monster bench by changing it up for a week or 2 you big smelly bunghole..

Ouch, that doesn't look pretty. Sorry for the setback brother, hopefully you'll be back in full swing soon. At least you can do some floor presses to keep your bench going. I know it hurts inside not being able to squat or pull, trust me, I went through that last year and it sucked. You can do it, you have a great team behind you backing you up.

4.7.12 (ME Deadlift - 95%/3x1)
I've taken the last 2 weeks off. After the injury my drive to train just tanked. I felt like I just wanted to take some time, blow off training, and relax. There's been alot going on with me professionally and personally that have heaped a ton of stress on me as of late. I took this time to focus on knocking out those stresses during my work day and then just relax and enjoy my downtime without the added stress of training. I hoped that eventually, when I felt good enough, the desire to train would return and only then would I start training again. Today was that day.
Tried to squat but it's only been 2 weeks and the groin just isn't ready. So I wrapped it up with an ace bandage and some duct tape on top of that and proceeded to pull. I was very happy with the results.

Pulls were easy and fast. Groin was a little sore afterwards but nothing unbearable. Back on the benching horse on Monday! I may be able to salvage a Push/Pull out of this meet.
