My best is 560 off a 2-Board so not a great night. My first night back handling some weight and I'll be back in the gym this week so I'm hoping I can work out the cobwebs and be ready for the meet. Hoping my bench catches up as fast as my deadlift did.
Still having some elbow problems but the shoulders felt better after the first couple heavy benches. This leads me to believe I'm sore from the recent inactivity. Also took a finger wider grip tonight and felt pretty good there. I'll be experimenting with that grip in the coming weeks.
Even if i only take a couple days off i get a lot more soreness than usual. Im sure your bench will be right where you want it before the meet.
Not a bad session for your first night benching heavy since the injury, nice job Tone!!! Were you following a certain % or were you just going by feel?

Tonight I was just going by feel. If I went back on the program it was supposed to be a ME 2-Board but I wanted to go heavy full range just to put some weight back in my hands as well. Overall it wasn't bad but I know I've got alot of work to do to get back to form in time for the meet.
I'm sure it will all come around and you'll get that strength back fast.

Been struggling alot lately and just needed a change. Decided to put the shirt on again. First time in almost 2 years. I am more than happy with the results. I need some work before I'm in "shirt" shape again but overall it was a success.

All reps were easy and fast. Much better than I expected. Form was dialed in and it was like I never left. Guess all the coaching helps keep it fresh in my head. I was really comfortable under the bar and, even though my elbow hurts like HELL benching raw, it felt completely fine through the entire workout. I think I may have an 8 in me depending on how well my lockout goes.
I'm debating on entering the Iron Sport meet as a bench only just for fun. I found out Lattimer is doing it and it would be fun to show up and go head to head with my old training partner. Guess we'll see. I need more of this. I have to remember to keep doing fun shit in this sport or else it just burns you out.

I've done 815 and had a near miss with 865. 8 wouldn't be awesome. 9 would be awesome. 8 would be expected.

Feels ok except for certain situations. Like kicking up off the bench. I plan on putting some briefs on this weekend and seeing how it goes. If I feel ANYTHING I'm shutting it down and deadlifting. I'm doing a Push/Pull in Bristol in the coming months as well as the meet at Iron Sport.

4.22.12 Squat/Dead Day
Tried to squat again this week but still not ready. Groin has almost fully healed but not completely. I did some Sumo pulling to stretch it a bit but don't need to push it. I have a Push/Pull coming up so no need to push the squat till it's healed completely.

First workout back. Working on strengthning the groin will be an issue. I thought back to some issues I had that I never addressed. Realized the other day that I believe that was the source of my groin tear. I had some warning signs, but didn't realize they were warning signs at the time.
Also, I've began to finally listen to Vinny and Tim's advice and do the little things. I bought a lacrosse ball to roll out my shoulders, icing my joints and muscles, contrast showers, and more blue heat. It's working and I should've listened earlier.
What kind of warning signs did you feel or notice?
