    Zercher Competition on WBB!

Last week in Lones' log, we decided to get a little Zercher off pins competition going, simply because it was something different that we all don't normally do.

    The rules were

    - no gear besides a belt
    - must be at parallel or darn close to it
    - winner was most weight lifted - no weight classes

it was pretty much open to whomever wanted in. Video wasn't required, but was appreciated.

Other people who entered were Risk10K who worked up to 315, and I know BrianC and Sidior said they were going to work on something today so they may post their results sometime.

Lones and I are going to come up with the next competition and we'll post it here in the PL section, but I can promise it won't have a thing to do with Zerchers because I am beat to crap today from that stuff.

I was very disappointed to not get 405 OR 360, but in my defense I felt like I was going to mess myself on 405

LOL dude it's a forum competition. I wouldn't sweat it too much

Sure it could be deeper, but we were all in about the same position, so that was the idea.

Be more than happy to add your video to the original post if you like

You guys are trying to kill me aren't you? You know I'll want to do this. Between my ab and back I know it's not a good idea. I was going to take tomorrow off from squatting because of my ab pull. I'm so conflicted guys.

Very impressive lifting by all of you. Great stuff!

Ok dude. It was a simple question.

I did Zercher box squats with the harness below parallell this past thursday. I hit 545. But I won't be doing them again in a while so no video to add to the original post dude.

Nice work guys. I don't think my forums can hold up to that much weight. I still feel like my right arm is still a little numb from doing these a couple weeks ago.

Jump in Brian! It's open for however long this thread keeps going.

There really isnt any places or prizes or anything, we were just doing it to kinda bust each others balls a little and spur on some training

I definitley want to do it, it just might be awhile before we take a ME Zercher squat. Myself and a couple others have 4 weeks left of training for our meet. I'm not sure if John will have us messing around with Zerchers right now. But when we do end up doing them I will get video.

Yeah the rest of us are a long ways out from a meet so we had nothing to lose. Don't let it jack up your training.

Honestly I'd love to see what Scott could do with these. That kid I bet could put up some absolutely sick numbers

I might give these a roll, but I don't want the forearm pain. I know, I'm a pussy...

Johnnyo! Nice work man! Way to grind out that 425. Don't sweat the towel, I have actually found that when I used a towel or wore a sweatshirt it made the pain worse because it bunched up in places and pulled my skin really hard. I just put some chalk in my elbows and it seems to work well.

Chris, now you need to just because you said that.

I'd like to see what you'd put up!

You could do them after your max effort movement, thats what I did.

4 weeks out is a little iffy though

Do you have elbow sleeves? They help... just make sure to chalk them up so that the bar doesn't slide around.

I would like to give these a shot; actually I have never even done a zercher squat. Might be too beat up from competing recently but if I feel alright tomorrow then I will give them a try and take some video.
