I usually go straight home after an SS session.
I do not take my foam foller to the gym so could I use it before I shower and also on my off days?
I'd like to do something to lesson the DOMS and enhance recovery.
So is foam rolling after of any benefit?
Why not just do some stretching?
You could also try contrast showers, which were discussed by Vincent in his most recent article here.

It's not necessary to foam roll immediately after your workout. Just get your work in on it over the course of the week whenever you can fit it in. I've never found it to be that helpful for acute recovery from workout to workout, but it does seem to help on a more long-term basis to prevent excessive tightness and trigger points. The contrast showers can be helpful though.
The best way to combat DOMS and help recovery is making sure your diet is in order and getting enough rest. Even then, you can only speed up the recovery process so much.
Any soreness on the days following your workouts should be all but gone after about 2 weeks into SS assuming you eat/sleep enough.
