    power meet question

I am 2 weeks out from a RAW push pull. I have stopped doing legs(squats hacks) is that ok just want to focus on bench and dead no xtra energy being wasted. Also what should i be doing this week in terms of weights? working up to my 2nd attempts? after that then what some bench and pulling at lower %ages. My planned bench max at the meet is 450ish and pull 645ish. Tom is bench day Fri is pull day. your feedback please,

I would work up to your second attempts this week then take it easy and relax the week of. Which meet are you doing bull?

I very, very rarely ever go above my opener in the gym at any time. If you are only a couple weeks out, the most I would do would be something near your opener ASAP and then deload.

Ask your self how confident your are? Do you need to work up to your openers or do you feel the work has been done that you needed to. May be best just to do some light singles this week at 70%, then deload next week all together.

I think(and of coarse this is just my opinion) that working up to openers or 2nds less then 3 weeks out can negatively affect your meet and that you should save those kinds of weights for the meet.

    Baldbull,
Laying off the squats is a good idea 2-weeks out. As for the DL, I dont pull for at least 2-weeks prior to a meet. Since your already 2 weeks out, I wouldnt pull at all the week of the meet.

Maybe work up to your opener or as Scott stated 70% of 1rm then stop... Save it for the platform bro!
factor in the adrenaline rush of the meet and hopefully you'll set a new PR!

    Good luck, RC
