High school reunion.

A girl from my old high school class just called. They are having a reunion may 17th.

Background info: high school = 3years (15/16-18/19 year olds). So I went three years in the same class as these people. My grades weren't good enough so I had to take the last year over again with another class. And I didn't graduate with this class. I didn't turn up the last week of school. I'll turn 24 this year. So this is 5 years ago.

I am not a very social person as you might know. People don't really interest me unless they have done something different or share my interests. I was gonna say no right away but I'm thinking of going. There is one guy I still talk to and hang out with from time to time from back then. If he goes I might.

I haven't really been happy with myself the way I look feel and so on. The last three years I have tried to change this. I look a bit different then I did back then, and of course I have though about meeting them and shock them like on Jerry Springer or something like that. But I don't feel that anymore, my dreams and goals have changed. And I don't really care what they think of me, they are not a part of my life anymore. I don't know them anymore then any random person on the street.

Have any of you been to anything like this, what was your experience? Would you go? What do you all think about it?

I don't even remember half of the people, have to try and find an old photo album.

Personally, I don't think a HS reunion has to be about 'showing off' or 'surprising people with how much you've changed'.

Taken simply, it is a chance to reconnect with people who used to be a part of your life and to socialize a bit. Who knows -- the girl you used to hate or the guy who used to sit next to you in English may have become interesting people that share many interests with you. Or they might all still be jerks. Ya never know.

I went to a reunion and 'rebooted' a friendship with someone I barely knew in high school. We talk all the time now and are close friends. Some of the people were still jerks, but most of them, jocks and nerds and weirdos alike, accompanied me on that "long journey to the middle" (that's a quote from somewhere, I forget where).

Once you get out of university and into the real world, it's all too easy to have your social circle narrow and your friends become fewer. Never pass up the chance to have fun and make friends, sez I.

heh yea I'm not going there to show off. I don't have much to show off. And I don't think there were any hotties in my class.

i met up with some peops back in elementry skool who i havent seen for 5 yrs...lol they thought i was on steroids. funny cuz they used to bully me around back then, now i can make them my bitch

haha prince.... yea they called 3 years ago said no thou.... Had been cool to go since I had gone to school with them for 9 years... has been 10 years in 2 more years maybe they will call again. I still remember most their first and last names. Remember maybe 5-10 peps name from this class hehe they didn't make much of an impact on me lol... I'm gonna go anyway, maybe I'll beat someone up or something fun.... maybe reiners sister will be there.

well...high school was someplace i just kinda passed through, considering my gypsy school history. I did spend a few years in that community, but i never did like the people and got outta there the first chance i got, and never really looked back. So I've always just kinda tossed the reunion invites when they've come because a. i can't really remember anyone's name i went to high school with, and b. the people i did care about from high school (not in my class, but from my neighborhood) hightailed it, committed suicide, or i still here from on occassion through my brother.
