Why are caffeinated drinks such as Coke, Sprite, or Dr. Pepper so bad for you? Is it the useless calories or what? Couldn't calories from pure sugar be burned off in a "flash"?
I quit drinking caffeinated/canned drinks a couple months ago, is it worth quiting?
The amount of caffein contained it these drinks is too small to cause any problems. However the amount of sugar contained is too large.. They're empty calories:only pure sugar,no vitamins etc.
Yes. Drink milk instead.
i think some guys are trying to make carbonated milk in a soda sized can to promote a healthy substitute for soda for kids. drink that instead.![]()

I honestly find that sometimes I can avoid a sugar cheat with a diet pepsi. So what is the damage I'm doing with a diet soda???![]()

Carbonated, syrup based soft drinks are not very nice to the digestive tract.

Carbonated milk?! Bleh...
Well, i agree here as diet pepsi is damn good after a heavy tasting meal. I don't see anything wrong w/ it. Certainly the acid can dissolve your teeth, so take care on you hygeine. However, gastric juice is just as acidic . so once you get past those teeth i think your ok.Originally posted by Savannah

Soda causes burp and sticks out your stomach making you look out of shape. Caffeine, sugar and sodium may be other ingredients not good for you.
The Carbonated liquid does not hydrate you. I read somewhere about this ..... (Can't really remember the technicalities) but it was something to do with the carbonated molecules that cause more problems ...... in terms of hydration.
I know what I mean anyway.![]()

Yates- that sounds kinda like those atories about people using coke to clean up highway spills.
It wouldn't make sense; the water molecules aren't actually altered, so other than the fact that caffeine is a diuretic, I don't see why carbonated beverages wouldn't hydrate you.
I got it in a book at home .... so I'll have a little look tonight an then you can say where you agree or disagree.
