    Why are people so rude?

As I am walking out of the gym today there is this gentleman making his way towards the door so I hold it open for him and he just walks right past, so I turn around and said 'You are welcome' in a loud voice. He then turned around and said 'yeah what ever kid'...

    What a f*cktard.
    People are stupid.
It's obvious that you were just trying to be nice.
I do that all the time and noone says anything to me.
Why can't people just be friendly?

you inferred he was being an assface by yelling your welcome, thats why he said whatever kid. not everyone says thank you all the time, and those who dont are the kind of people who will turn around and say "yeah whatever kid" dont complain, deal with your problems

The trick to rude people is to be kind to them After working in a restraunt (can I really call it that?) LOL it was actually a world wide restruant that rhymes with Hick Donalds. And let me tell you about rude people. You simply smile, talk calmly, and let them tell there story, and offer a solution for them. Works everytime

You know, I'm guilting of saying the same thing quite often, but you probably shouldn't do something if you are expecting something in return. At least, that's what I tell myself.

Ya I used to work at a Save On Foods, like a Safeway, and while the angry customer was telling me what they pissed off about I couldn't help but just laugh. I have a real problem with laughing in peoples faces, I'm just a psycho. After that they usually just go find someone other poor employee who might actually listen.

you could try all the suggestions here, I like them, or you could try mine, I find results are usually positive: Go to his house. f*ck his wife, knock up his daughter, shoot his dog, burn his house down, and leave it all for him to come home to. If you want to, take red marker and write 'YOU'RE WELCOME' all over his wife's car.

I get a kick out of people that are rude like that. It used to piss me off, now i just smile, throw another nice comment thier way and laugh loudly. Sometimes they look back at me in some fu*ked up way with a stupid look on thier face. Most of the time i think if people are rude like that they are probably not very happy people, and life probably isnt very fun for them. Thats why i laugh, i think its funny. sick huh?

I know what u mean though...does drive me mad too

It doesn't take 5 seconds to say thanks.

Even if im miserable or having a bad day I will still thank them.

I do say '' your welcome '' like you do though if they ignore me

No point stirring up more trouble though...especially with me still being quite skinny ( to my dissapointment ) I can kick ass when i really need to but the odds aren't that great :-)

just dont hold the door for him anymore, maybe he was in a rush.

the other day, i was riding home, but i was talking on my phone at the same time and this 'lady' rode past, i wasnt even swerving or anything but she went 'watch where youre going.........f--k' and i just laughed.
