Who's got time for breakfast? (Well, maybe if you didn't stay up late watching Casino Royale, sleep in, and check your email first thing in the morning, you'd have time.)
Sure, there are times where your bed resembles a cocoon you couldn't possibly leave and the snooze alarm on your clock has been punched so many times it looks like Mike Tyson (sans face tattoo). On those days, the perfect breakfast only takes a few minutes and requires only a blender and a few choice ingredients.
The Popeye
- 1 cup frozen raspberries
- 1 cup spinach
- 1 cup low-fat plain yogurt
- ½ cup low-fat milk
- ¼ cup cashews
- 2 scoops strawberry Nitrean protein
Combine all ingredients into a blender and blend on high till smooth and creamy.
Green Tea Smoothie
- 1 tsp matcha green tea
- ¼ cup hot water
- ½ banana
- ½ cup coconut milk
- ½ cup low-fat cottage cheese
- ½ cup low-fat plain yogurt
- 1 scoop Vanilla Nitrean Protein
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups of ice
Add matcha to 2 tbsp of hot water. Mix with a fork until matcha is completely dissolved. Add remaining hot water stirring constantly. Combine all ingredients and blend on high until smooth and creamy.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Jolt
- 1 cup water
- 1 scoop chocolate Nitrean Protein
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 1 tbsp natural peanut butter
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp instant coffee
- 1 cup ice
Add everything together and blend on high till smooth and creamy.

This is interesting as I was thinking of adding a sort of vegetable smoothie shake to my diet. I like the idea of the chocolate peanut butter bolt but I wanted to add some veggies to it that can be mixed with a blender.
I know I could add spinach, but I'm looking for vegetables I could add that will blend easily, any suggestions? I don't want to waste a bunch of the vegetable or have weird chunks floating around. I don't really care too much about taste either. I just want to add in some green veggies plus I have a long commute and one of these shakes would do the trick.

American cars are like fat people, sure, they have a lot of power, but they're not built well, and they have all that useless weight, plus they make both make funny noises.

You'll want vegetables that will liquefy easily. Denser vegetables such as carrots and beets generally require a juicer (the blades in a typical blender won't work very well and there's always the chance that you'll ruin the mechanism, not to mention you'll need a way to make use of/get rid of the pulp). In addition to spinach, you could always try kale, Swiss chard or cucumbers.
me: so this is the "pump" you speak of

Try steaming cauliflower, bell peppers, yams or carrots; put them in a food processor until smooth; regifrigerate and when you are ready add them to your smoothie!

I haven't made one in a while so I don't remember the exact quantity of ingredients. I own a Montel Williams' Living Well HealthMaster. Vitamix is too expensive.
