    Zercher contest II

Wasn't really sure if this belongs in the contest forum or not. It's a pretty informal contest we've done once before. If someone feels the need to move this to the contest forum, that would be just fine.

Travis and I discussed it, and we thought we'd have another Zercher contest. All just for fun, no huge prizes or anything. It was pretty cool last time we did it.

Originally, we were going to do it to see how much everyone improved from the last contest. We can still do that, but I realize there may be some people who want to participate that didn't do the the first one. In that case, the first timers should do it like we did the first contest, just try and Zercher squat as much as you can!

The deadline for entries will be Saturday, June 19th.

    Here's a couple rules:
    -Belt only

    -No weight classes

-Do them from pins set where your hips are roughly at parallel. Depth is not a huge deal, this is for fun. Just no 2 inch range of motions, please.

-No zercher harness. You have to do them with the bar resting in your arms. You can use elbow sleeves or something to pad the bar if you feel like being a wimp about it.

    -Get video for your entry.

Like I said, if anyone that did the last contest (that pretty much took place in my journal) wants to do this one, I think it'd be cool to see how much we can improve from our last PR's.

Let me know if you're interested!

Here was Travis's entry from the last contest:

Can I do them off a box, out of chains, with a cambared bar??? Just wondering, because that's how I did them last time.

    LOL Sure!

Although I bet you could do some pretty sick weight with a straight bar. I've never done them with the cambered bar, but wouldn't that be harder?

I bet the chains would make it easier to get setup, I know they do when I do chain suspended goodmornings vs. concentric goodmornings off pins. I think the cambered bar would make it harder though!

try throwing a wrist wrap around the bar where you put your arms, or put some elbow sleeves on.
