What is your #1 "I've made it" goal? What is that one thing you can achieve that will let you know that you are a somebody in the lifting world? Is it an 18" arm? Is it a triple bodyweight deadlift? Is it a six-pack? What's your yard stick?
BE SPECIFIC!

An alternative to the typical 9 - 5 lifestyle
Overhead press 1.5 X BW.
World record squat.
Best unequipped meet lifts - 120kg Open class
Sq: 629lbs
Bp: 330lbs
Dl: 585lbs
Training since Dec 2008.
When people say 18" inch arms is that flexed or unflexed? Also if you are say 5' 10" and weigh 200-210 pounds wouldn't your arms be around 18 inches flexed anyway ? I would think most linebackers in the NFL are well over 18".
Peace

Most top level natural bodybuilders have a TRUE 18" bicep, if you take out the exaggerated claims. An 18" arm is truly a massive gun.

For many years now, my main goal was to be able to rep 225 on bench. Two months ago, I reached this goal by being able to bench 225 for 5x5. However, since then, I graduated university so I went on vacation for a month, etc so I'm back down to about 195 but will progress back up shortly.

Interesting that this is a weight lifting AND BODYBUILDING forum. Yet, most every reply is geared towards lifting goals.

My goal is to bench 2x bw.
Bench 315 for some reps, and 405 once. (rehab shoulder first... was almost there.)
No squat or deadlift goals due to a bad knee... but I also have a young daughter (5 months old) and I too get motivated by knowing I will crush the boys' egos that come over to date her. That and I'll be cleaning a few guns when they arrive.

Chalk me up as another "Insprire abject terror in boys looking to date my daughter" guy.
I want to see abs by Sept 2012; Our 15yr Wedding anniversary going to Hawaii, before I step on that plane I want to take a picture of me with my abs showing.
I am in the high 20% range of BF at 5'7" 210# right now.
27mths is a long time but I will need to set intermediate goals on my path.
If I hit it before 2012 then I will want to maintain.
