Has anyone used this? Any opinions on it? It looks like a fun way to do some posterior chain and grip-type work. Could also be used as conditioning possibly.

'There are no layby's on the road to strength'
'The greatest pleasure in life is achieving things people said you could not achieve'
'He who makes a beast of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man'
That's the basic idea. I've been reading that a lot of people don't feel that there is much carryover but for me that's not an issue since I don't do strongman.
Another question: could you just use this and put a bulldog collar on it?

The EliteFTS loading pin is a solid pin which is part of the reason why it is so expensive, but I do not think that it is worth it for most people unless you are going to be using it for a variety of things. The other loading pin that you mentioned (IronMind) is about $45 and may be more useful if you have a rolling thunder and/or hip belt, but again I would not purchase it if you are just looking for something to row with. To make an 'economy stone trainer' you can just go to Home Depot and pick up some 1.5" pipe (about 2" outer diameter) and some end caps or flanges - would only run you about $10 total.
If you are just looking for a rowing movement from the floor to overload your posterior chain I would go with some V-Bar Rows.
For something more 'functional' you can pick up a military duffel bag for around $30 and fill it with rocks, weights, or sand - then use it for rowing / loading / carrying / etc. The 'sandbag' would also have some carryover to lifting actual atlas stones for those who may be interested.

Thanks for the reply Tom. I do have a Rolling Thunder right now so I'll probably go that route.

I always wanted to get the ironmind loading pin, a rolling thunder, and a hip belt. You could have a lot of fun with those items.

If you have the rolling thunder you should already have a loading pin, or did you purchase the handle separately?
Below is a link to instructions on how to make a loading pin if you want to save some cash and have a drill. The only thing I would do differently is use a 10" or 12" piece of pipe rather than a 6" (all of these sizes should be available at most Home Depot stores). This handle would probably work well for a Rolling Thunder since you most likely will not load it above 200 lbs, but for a hip belt I would definitely get the Iron Mind loading pin.

Tom- I bought the handle probably 10+ years ago and have used webbing and carabiners to load it, which is very awkward. Thanks for link, I may have to go to Home Depot this weekend
