Sooner than the end of the year, mate. I have a feeling that after the first few weeks of caloric restriction you'll settle back into a groove REAL fast.

    Cheers guys!

Tell you something that has really helped my lower back, and it might sound silly, but I've swapped my computer chair in my study for a dining chair with a tall back. Lower back feels tons better now, lol.

    ME Upper and Short Run

    Bench:

    20xbar
    4x60(132)
    2x70(154)
    1x85(187)
    1x107.5(236.5)
    12x60(132)
    15x60(132)

    DB Bench:

    6x20s(44s)
    6x30s(66s)

    Standing Press:

    3x40(88)
    3x40(88)
    10x40(88)

    Barbell Rows:

    12x60(132)
    10x80(176)
    6x100(220)

    THEN Home, followed immediately by:

    2 mile run, 18mins 36secs

    ----------
    Summary:

Weird day, lol. Gym was abnormally busy, meaning I had to do what I could, when I could with what weights I could get my hands on. Was so busy I couldn't even park in the car park and had to find a space in the next street.

    Must be the weather.

Bench of 107.5kg was ludicrously easy - could probably have got it for a double. Was very surprised as, like with yesterday, I've not had much to eat today.

DB Bench was somewhat less impressive. Whatever muscles I've strained during my recent bought of asthma didn't take kindly to it and after the second set I had a sharp pain in my sternum. Still have it now. Doesn't seem to be affecting anything, but didn't want to strain it further by continuing with DB Bench.

Barbell Rows were meant to be different weights/reps, but there were people deadlifting. Luckily, they were pretty skinny, so I used the weights they were deadlifting to row with, haha!

    Two mile run went well.

Going out for some food and drink at the pub now. I may be some time...

Thanks Bri! My lower back used to be my achilles heel, but these days it's getting stronger and stronger. SLDLs from blocks really work for me.

Cheers Tom! Still not got the groove with the DB Bench, though.

Went to see my GP today - she diagnosed me with a sprained ligament around my sternum. Started with asthma, exacerbated by the DB Bench. I'm sure it'll heal up quickly though.

    Fartlek Training

    2.5 Miles Fartlek Run, 23mins 24secs

Right shin kills, limping about the house now, lol.

Apocalyptic thunderstorm opened up above me during this run. Between that and Disturbed blaring in my ears, I had more than enough adrenaline for the sprints.

    DE Lower

    Speed Squats:

    20xBW
    10x60(132)
    3x70(154)
    3x70(154)
    3x70(154)
    3x70(154)
    Add Light Bands
    3x70(154)
    3x70(154)
    3x70(154)
    3x70(154)

    GMs:

    10x60(132)
    10x60(132)
    10x60(132)

    Hanging Leg Raises:

    10, 10, 10

    Then HOME followed immediately by:

    1.5 mile run, 16mins 08secs

    ----------
    Summary:

Training first thing, didn't even have any breakfast beforehand.

Warmed the knee up with some Deep Heat, wrapped it tight, then kept the weight light and focused on getting low and stretching the knee out.

Worked well - knee twinging a lot less than last time.

Knew I was going out for a run, so kept GMs light as otherwise I'd end up with serious back pump.

Came home, refilled waterbottle and went straight out for a run.

At some point during the morning, my calves had been replaced with sacks of molten lead. Now that's a depletion run!

Off to carb load and watch the new Star Trek film at the cinema.

    Long run tomorrow.
