    6x80(176)

    20x100(220)

    10x25(55)

    Calf Raise:

    10x30(66)
    10x30(66)

    ----------
    Summary:

Good session. My friend started training with me today too, which was a good motivator. He's a bigger guy than me, but out of shape, so he's in it just to shape up and lose weight.

The triple squat at 140kg was the best I've done at that weight. Felt strong and smooth, a far cry from my previous triple at that weight.

Gonna eat, stretch and so on ready for Wednesday - I'd like to hit a 85 or 90kg triple on the bench, if I can! Got a spot now, so should make things easier!

We have kg. and lbs. plates at the gym I train at, and we use the kg. ones once in awhile. I actually like that it looks like less plates on the bar. Makes it look like lighter weight until you actually get under it, lol.

Thanks Brian! I think it will, especially on the bench. It'll be more a boost for him than me though, as he's been wanting to go back to the gym for ages but has no motivation unless he has someone to go with.

    Bench and stuff!

    Bench:

    6xbar
    6xbar
    6x40(88)
    6x50(110)
    6x60(132)
    3x70(154)
    3x80(176)
    3x85(187)

    Standing Press:

    6xbar
    6x30(66)
    6x40(88)
    3x50(110)
    2x60(132)

    Tricep Pulldown:

    10x20(44)
    10x30(66)
    10x40(88)
    10x50(110)
    10x50(110)
    10x50(110)

    Lat Pulldown:

    10x30(66)
    10x40(88)
    10x50(110)
    10x60(132)

    DB Curls: Weights in lbs

    8x15
    8x20
    8x30
    8x35

    ----------
    Summary:

Good day. 85kg was the max I could comfortably handle on the bench today, will be another week or two before 90kg, but I'm happy - slowly edging up to 100kg x3 which has been one of my goals for a while.

Standing Press was good fun, will nail that 60kg x3 next week.

Cable Machine maxes out at 50kg when doing my tri pulldowns, so don't know whether to add reps or do the old 'hang a plate from the pin' thing.

Also, getting married in 3 days...

I've been a long time lurker around here ever since I started reading up on HCT12, and about 2 weeks ago I came across your journal here.

So over the past two weeks I've read through the entire thing (while sitting at work usually waiting for scripts and processing to run) from start to finish and I have to say you have really inspired me. Everything you've been through since you started and how you've handled it and overcame it was awesome to read.

I've been working out lift on and off for probably 5-6 years now. But I've never kept track of anything, never followed a real routine, for the majority of that I've probably really just been a person that was going through the motions. So within the first two days or so of reading this, I made the decision to follow HCT12 pretty much to the tee for at least two months and keep track of all workouts. That way if it's not working I can look back and decide what to change.

So far - that's working out very well for me. I'm back to, and surpassing the time most recently when I was lifting heaviest. So I have you to thank for that. Secondly I feel like I probably will start a journal like yours on here too to keep a document of more then just numbers in an excel sheet.

And lastly CONGRATS on getting married! I wish you every happiness, and I'll be keeping tabs on this thread for sure

Thanks for the kind words, Rileigh!

This website is the main reason I've managed to stay on track with my lifting and battle my way back from all my many (self-inflicted) injuries. Thanks to the patient, wise and friendly advice I've had from people on this site, I've turned lifting from a mere hobby into something that has helped to keep me grounded and focussed when things go wrong. It has, literally, changed my life.

Will deffo follow your journal and offer my support and limited experience!

And speaking of life changing events....

I got married on Saturday! Pics will follow after I post my workout!

    Squats and Leg Press!

    Squats:

    6xbar
    6xbar
    6x60(132)
    6x80(176)
    3x100(220)
    3x120(265)
    1x130(286)
    1x140(309)
    1x150(330)PR

    Leg Press:

    6x100(220)
    6x150(330)
    6x200(440)
    20x100(220)

    ----------
    Summary:

Very happy with that workout. Was in pretty early this morning, so was unsure whether to lift heavy or not, particularly after drinking so much on my wedding night. But thought 'what the hell' and went for it.

Glad I did - I'm now only 10kg from my target of 160kg. I'm going lower than I ever have before, I'm no longer squat-morninging and I'm feeling my glutes activate to snap me out of the hole. Very happy with how it's going. The alternating reps and heavy singles each session is working out nicely.

Would've done some calf and ham work but we were pressed for time this morning, so did another 20 rep leg press instead.
