    Powerlifting Loses Another Great

Read on a couple other forums that Rick Hussey has passed.

This is a huge loss to the powerlifting world and my thoughts go out to the BIG team. Very sad day.

Terrible news. I'd heard he was in the fight of his life for several years. Rest in peace Mr. Hussey. Huge loss to all in powerlifting.

I never met Rick but the respect given and shown by his lifters shows he must have been a great guy.

I'm so sorry to hear of this. Rick was an extraordinary man! He was so outgoing and no one ever seemed like a stranger to him. The 1st time I met him in Finland in 2005 he treated me like he'd known me all my life. He even invited me and Rick Lawrence to join him and his guys for dinner. We had a ball. He was so funny and full of life! I got to hang out with him and the guys a few more times at meets over the next years and he always called me by name with no hesitation. That always impressed me. The last time I got to talk with him, he talked about powerlifting and how his guys lifting was going as well as mine. He never even mentioned his own health. He was all about the team. I think God has a special place in heaven for those who give so much to others. My deep condolences to Big Iron lifters, Rick's family, and many friends and acquaintances. You'll never be replaced!
