o-lifting is fun, but it takes a lot of time. I wish I had more time to focus on it but I jsut can't recover from 2 heavy sessions + 3 throwing days /week... I really want to do an OL meet though, so later this year I'll try to shift focus a little.. I am doing snatches today before moving onto push jerks and upper stuff, so I fit them in where I can.

dudes, I could not stand up from cleans, lol. Like it felt heavy as fuck and so did that 130 and 140 front skwat. I am actually somewhat pleased that I made all those doubles and doubled 151/334 at the end but wtf was going on during the cleans, lol.

on another note, don't eat a 3 meat french bread pizza for pretraining meal. Well don't eat definitely. Maybe that was part of the issue today. I will stick to rice/beef/green beans or broccoli or brussel sprouts from now on.
Nice work on the squat PR... sounds like maybe you were just out of position on the cleans and that is why you ended up pinned?

That is most likely the reason, and I also have a tendency to sometimes lose my tightness (on snatches too), and kind of collapse. So that does not help things, lol

Starting a new squat type prgram for back squats that goes like this
choose a weight a bit higher than your best clean and do this

add weight, go back to 6x4...
you progress a rep range when it feels less challenging than before (on a different day of course). I've found that focusing less on squat 1RMs has made me a much better lifter.
2 minutes rest in between sets btw. no more, no less.

1st time doing deads in a long time. Well about a month since the last strongman show, and had not really pulled much since then either. Need to make sure that I am at least deadlifting once every 2 weeks. I was tired, and it's at the end of the week, so not too disappointed in it. Going to run 5/3/1 for back squats I think. Then just front squat or something on other days. 5/3/1 really worked well for my squats before, so I don't see why it won't work for my beltless squats.
Pretty happy with 105 snatch considering the doubles up to it.

Starting 5/3/1 for Beltless Back Squats and Push Press
Well I have used it before for belted squats, and for strongman type jerks. Think I will do the 5/3/1 squats on Tuesdays, and push presses on Thursday. I will then also front squat on Thursdays and probably on Saturdays as well.
Using 180kg for squat max, a little low, but ok. 118kg for Presses. So 90% for cycle 1 training weights are:
Squats: 162kg
Push Press: 106kg
