Travis texted me about his reverse band bench yesterday. So, tomorrow will be reverse band bench for me. Trav said he used a blue band, so that's what I'll be doing. Not sure about the grip yet. Might do pinkies on the ring, might do comp. It will be a gametime decision. Now I absolutely can't wait to train tomorrow.

I cant compete now but when i benched 840 my best reverse blue band bench from a 7 foot rack was 650. I miss being 305 lol

These weekly challenges are cool. Kind of like training with people you aren't able to do so with in person.
Here's mine. I am pleased with the outcome. However, I am still suffering a bit of an aggrevated pec and the IT band issue. These are improving daily. I'm really excited about my training and my progress. I just want to keep getting healthier and see what I am capable of.

680 was it for me. I estimated 715 for Vincent in our earlier talks. I'm starting to think he feigns injury so that we can shock us all with what he ends up hitting. 740 is very very impressive

Very funny Trav. I know you were kidding, but I do want to explain the injury stuff. I discuss my injuries because I know most of us have them. It's rare that we go into a competition unscathed. I'd like the newer guys to see this. We are going to get injuries and we have to figure out what we can work through and what we cannot. For two weeks I could not put my feet on the floor to bench. I could have just said to heck with it and took the time off. Instead I benched with my feet up one session and floor pressed the other. During that time I was actively rehabbing. You get out of this crazy sport what you put into it. There are no quick and easy roads to get there.

So how the the blue bands supposed to be hooked up for a challenge? I can choke them on top of an 8ft cage! Which might give like 350 help at bottom and 150 on the top still, haha. Or hang them unchoked from the top pin which is like 7 ft.
So you see not everyones blue reverse band is even close.
Very well put !!! Especially the last few sentences. So many "newbies" think they can obtain your size or make massive gains overnight and from a bottle of pills. They have to realize they need to spend the time in the gym, "Pay their dues" so to speak to make gains.
Keep up the good work and posting your results. It gives me inspiration to hit the weight room.
