Cheers Coke and Tom - me too! Today's session definitely made up for it... Only a quick update no need to go into much detail though...

Deadlifted up to my planned opener, 250kg (550lbs), then went to break my current main goal of 600lbs!!! And I got it!! That is my planned second attempt for June 9th.

    Very very pleased. Stoked as!!!!!

    Here's the vid:
    Video

    Finished the session off with some Goodmornings - 80kg (176lbs) * 10, 100kg (220lbs) * 10, 110kg (242lbs) * 10

Thats awesome Hayden!!! You did a great job by sticking with the weight. You were committed to the lift, and that's how you grind out a deadlift. Some lifters can't grind out weight like that...Very impressive pull!!!

Thanks Brian, have always been one to try and grind out a deadlift. It just depends on how much I want it and I was in the right headspace to do so yesterday, appreciate the compliment Brian - especially from a lifter like yourself!

Thanks Coke! Cheers Tom - yeah I am noticing they are slowly growing...

Thanks a lot Cobber an Tom Bro! Will be able to tick it off my list once I get it in a comp, then aim for the big 7PPS

    Thursday 31st May

Squatted up to opener and 2nd today. Plan is 225kg to open an 235kg or second. Trying to be a bit aggressive this competition. Should be interesting.

Wasn't feeling it today as had been chopping off and skinning sheep legs (random for a sports science lab manager I know, but it's for a dissection lab next semester) but got in an did the work.

Moved the rack to face away from the mirror, needed to as it felt a bit different given that I have been facing a mirror for so long now. Will likely do one more squat session on Sunday, just to nail the form etc.

Cheers Nick Brian Tom & Coke!! Will get back to you on that measurement, you want half way, widest point or what? Lol

    Friday 1st June

Bench Pressed up to planned opener of 125kg (275lbs) and the elbow held up ok, did one paused rep an one touch an go in separate sets at that weight. Felt a little pain but held up pretty good. Should be sweet for comp!

Then did 3 sets of 15 reps Hammer Curls and 3 sets of 10, 8 & 8 on the Shrugs. Just random accessory work for the elbow an for fun.

    8 days...

By the way hopefully get a chance to check journals tomorrow!

Thanks Brian... Squat I would be happy to hit 235kg (517lbs), Bench probably anything 130kg+ (286lbs) and Deadlift obviously hitting 272.5kg (600lbs)! I would be happy with those numbers for sure. Total anything that beats my current best 622.5kg (1372lbs). Should be doable I imagine.

    Tom the current measurement at the widest point - Right = 63cm (24.8inches), Left = 63.5cm (25inches)

    Todays horrible session...
Saturday 2nd June - I hate the sled

Again got ten lengths (1 length = 30m there + 30m return) with 40kg on it. Spewed after 6...
Did manage to recompose myself after an finish the work. It has never been that bad though, aren't you are meant to get better not worse?

Wouldn't be surprised to see those thighs get up to the 26 or 27 mark in a reasonable amount of time.

You've had some of the finest runs I've seen, take that champion mindset with you to the meet next week and that will be all she wrote.
