    My raw journey to 1900...

Here we go, it's a new year with some new goals, so why not start a new journal. I've decided to skip the BMC once again. They changed the date from March 24th to March 10th and it sort of threw me off guard. So now i'm just going to start 531 and train to get strong.

    Monday
    01/02/12
    DL-Back

    Deadlift
    Bar x 10
    135 x 5
    135 x 5
    225 x 5
    315 x 5
    5/3/1 Week 1-Cycle 1
    405 x 5
    465 x 5
    525 x 5...added belt
    525 x 5

    Pull-ups
    BW x 6
    BW x 8
    BW x 6

    CSR
    1pps x 10
    2pps x 10
    3pps x 8
    3pps x 8

    Barbell curls
    45 x 10
    65 x 10
    85 x 10
    85 x 10

    Shrug machine
    200 x 15
    290 x 15
    380 x 15
    380 x 15
    380 x 15

    *****************************************
Done...not a bad session to start the new year. I really need to work on my deadlift volume. But I want to stay away from the higher reps. So what i'm going to try this cycle is do the required reps for 2-3 sets. I'm also going to pull every other week and do chain suspended GM's in between.

When do you think you will compete instead? I heard there is going to be a meet in Fort Lauderdale on 04/14. SPF sanction, so you could use knee sleeves or wraps for raw.
    Best competition lifts:
    650lbs. raw squat
    430lbs. raw bench
    580lbs. raw deadlift

I'm not sure yet. I'm just going to train and see where I end up. Do you know who's putting it on?

Brian, I took that volume idea from reading Rhode's log as well. Like it so far. Feels like training rather than lifting weights.

That's exactly where I got the idea, lol. I'm thinking about doing it for all three but not sure yet. Definitely my squat because I think the higher reps aggravate my back.

With heavier weights and higher reps it almost always becomes a push it for one more vs. cut the set because the form is going type of thing. It is nice keeping things in check with reasonable rep ranges.

Done...It wasn't the day I was looking for, but still not a bad one. It was taking forever to get warmed up and i'm sure it has something to do with it being 30 degrees outside. I got all the required reps, but I was wanting to go for AMAP on my 3rd set of 335. Tomorrow I am squatting and i'm not sure yet if i'm going to start 531 or my program. I might do 531 for this month and then start my program next month.

No I was making fun of how dumb it would be to pay and go to a meet and just to the curl event and nothing else. So it would be funny if you did that.

Thanks Nick. My main goal this year is to hit all-time PR's (in a meet) with my squat and bench. I already hit an all-time PR twice with my deadlift. So we'll see how everything goes, hopefully 2012 will be good to all of us.

New log for the new year!! I start one for each new week lol.

Wishing you the best going forward in the new year with your goals. May all your weights be light and all your lights be white!
This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being thoroughly worn out before you are thrown on the scrap heap; the being a force of Nature instead of a feverish selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy - George Bernard Shaw
