I'm 5 ft 10 1/2 inches.
I beefed up to about from 145 to 178 lbs in less than a year.
I was wanting to cut to about 165 lbs or so and look incredibly ripped for the summer.
I cut my carbs a great deal and lowered my calorie intake.
I got down to 169. My girlfriend noticed that I lost weight, but I don't look incredibly leaner. I started to look skinny in my clothes.
I fatigue quickly with my workouts and can barely use my muscles.
What was wrong here?
My trainer tells me that if I actually cut, I will look like a stick and lose a lot of hard earned muscle.
He tells me with my body type(ectomorph), mass is hard to come by so I should keep beefing or "keep the ball rolling."
My new plan is to forget sporting the wife beater this summer and maybe sport it for next. In the mean time, I am going to work on my gains of strength and size. My goal is to reach 185 sometime this year. If I can slowly climb to 190 and maintain 12 to 15% bf, I will then start cutting down to 170 lbs. @ 7 - 8% bf.
I will then be a male stripper and sport the wife beater everyday and rub myself with body glitter.
lol
How many calories were you taking in when cutting? P/C/F?
eat more carbs,
and don't rub your self with body glitter.

You probably should have been eating more fat if you were low carbing.

You sound like me. I was 186lb, 17 years old, pretty good size but had a little bit of fat I needed to get rid of. I figured around 175lb would be great, but bf% was my concern not the weight. Well I went on a low carb diet and ate lots of protein. At one point I was 176lb, but my lifts suffered dramatically. Before I could get 275lb bench * 3, now I struggle with 260 *3. It sucks bad, since it looks like my putting the fat back on since I broke my diet (graduation parties, etc...going back to a healthy diet once all the food from my grad party tomorrow is gone).
Sure, not any recent ones though, this is from Jan. 26th.
No leg shots or anything, just this mug shot my girlfriend took of me one day. I really should get some "offical" pics.
