    No argument here. I was just challenging the concept on why it isn't acceptable. Not that it matters in any true way. Now that you have my attention, out of pure interest, what is an example of properly using it?

    Begging the question is more circular logic, in a way (relating to the claim itself). The latin is something like petitio principii. I'd wiki it but I'm on my phone atm.

    A statement that begs the question would be "All weight lifters are athletes, because a big component of athletic performance is weight lifting". In this case, the proof for your assertion "All weight lifters are athletes" is the second part of the statement, which isn't really verifiable and more or less relies on the same assumption as your initial assertion.
