Back in 09 I ended up having a type 2 pec tear which is a rupture at the musculotendinous . The specialist looked at it and said that it was not worth having surgery on because it would be like sewing two pieces of tender steak together. During this time , I was in the States on a football scholarship . Since I was a international student I was pretty much forced to play ball due to time constraints on the visa . Long story short . I kept playing on a injured pec and have been struggling ever since.
Im all done with football and have been really looking into powerlifting . Problem is , is that my bench has been a bitch . When ever I max out my right pec (torn) just seems to give way at the bottom of the bench . My left arm seems to shoot up while my right really struggles , looks like a wave motion. My right arm seems to keep up most of the time . It just starts "waving" once I hit 90%+ of 1rm .
I was wondering if anyone has suggestions on how to fix this or if anyone has suffered something similar ? Maybe a different way of training around it or something . Im just really stuck on working this out
