    Football and Physics

    Ive always wondered something..but never bothered to ask. May seem a little silly but I dont care haha. We are all here too learn.

    F=MA (Force=Mass times Acceleration) is used a plethora of times through out a football game. Its what determines a big hit, block, push power, etc. (Excluding variables such as how low you are, etc) If thats the only case...how does working out help this cause? Sure it can make you have some more mass, maybe make you faster, but I feel like their is more of a difference between Joe A at 220 lb and X amount of speed verse Profession player Joe B at 220 lb, etc. Help me out.
    Bench: 335
    Squat: 435
    Dead: 500

    Currently 6 ft, 220 lb.

    F=MA

    Working out significantly gets A up (a higher amount of strength usually means a higher power output and vice versa) and can get M up as well. Let's not forget impulse, energy transmission, mouvement preservation.

    Example for football: You work out, you get stronger, faster, you accelerate much more quickly. You spot a WR/RB running down the field and you're going for a face to face hit. Your A is now higher, so is your M, your speed is much higher (1/2MV^2) meaning the impact will create more energy (more energy transmitted = bigger hit). You tackle him, your lower body strength helps you transmit the impact/energy/mouvement as you keep a firm stance on the ground (your speed [v] goes close to zero, though it was much higher before). The other player suffers most of the impact (mv = mv, 1/2MV^2).
