I know there's probably 10,000 posts regarding this, but nothing I've tried is working, and I'm really desperate for help. I was 165 lbs two weeks ago at this time, now I'm down to 150... Gomad worked a while ago, bako shakes are helping in the very short run, but its all getting crapped away within a few hours of drinking it. Added up, I'm eating close to 4,000 cals a day with ~200 grams of protein. I'm not sick, haven't thrown up, only drank alcohol once in the past two weeks. I started up a gallon of milk a day again today, so I'm just looking for additional food items I could eat. My (relativity) short term goal is to weigh 185, long term maybe 230, but this isn't even about my goal, Its literally sickening for me that I lost 15lbs while I'm still attempting to bulk, and its shown in my lifts lately (today my squat was down 30 lbs from normal, bench down 20 lbs, rows down about 20 lbs. If i end up going down to 145 or less, I'm going to go to the doctor to get some blood work, but honestly I'm not having trouble stomaching the food, its just confusing me.

Are you weighing/measuring everything out?
If you aren't, start doing so to see how much you are actually eating.
Otherwise, spaghetti and meat sauce.
Nah, I need to pick up a new food scale, I'm pretty much eyeballing everything in the way of meat or averaging everything out. Besides meat, I do pretty much measure everything.
When I buy meat, I try to buy by the pound. Like 3.02, instead of things that are labeled 2.65 or something. This way I can separate it into 3 plastic bags and I know each time a cook what's in a bag its exactly 1 pound. Even if they aren't exactly a pound, after I eat them all my macros for the week will be correct.
And always low ball your measurements when bulking. The cups I have in my kitchen are 18 oz sizes. I know two cups of milk needs to be poured up to about 2 inches from the top of the cup. But I always pour to the top, while still tracking the calories of two cups. I do this with most things.
If.you do the opposite of this, (example drinking 14 oz of milk instead of 16) your calorie count could be off by like 4-600 calories, which makes a big difference.

Absolutely, I'll do that tomorrow, my diet got kinda messed up already today.
Thanks for the good tip Bako, low balling everything would be a good idea so long as I end up hitting over my target
Chevelle, I love that stuff, I have two or three cans sitting in my kitchen right now, haha.
I also think it'd be worth it right now for me to get a membership to costco or sams club or something like that.
I'll let you guys know how its going thanks again
I'll add my .02 just in case you want the "fun" alternative.
I use to have a really hard time gaining weight, but I found the secret...McDonalds. Went from 175 to 193 over the course of a few months. 3-4 times a week and when drunk on weekends, it did wonders.

Haha, yesterday was kinda dirty in the way of dieting, I never eat McD's twice in a day for example..
I went through a phase where I was eating low carb. Would regularly get double cheeseburgers from mcd's with only a little mustard and throw out the buns.
Are you sure you're not ill? I have a real hard time believing you take in 4000 calories and LOST 15 pounds. Especially in two weeks. That is a lot of weight loss in a very short time. Especially at 150/165.

Do you understand that the second you
look in the mirror and you're happy with
what you see, baby, you just
lost the battle!
Honestly, I pushed myself kinda hard to get these 4000 cals. I attribute the weight loss to starting smoking after stopping for four months. I haven't smoked in 3 days since I realized that starting smoking again could have been the reason for the rapid weight loss/lack of intensity in the gym. I'm back up to 155.4 (night time weight) and I haven't eaten that much today. I'm still looking for more food ideas that I can put into my diet though. I'm really open to anything. My intensity at the gym however has gone back up to normal. With no food pre workout, my max squat was only down 5 lbs. if I had a good supply of carbs/cals pre workout I could have probably tied, if not, set a new pr.
I'm willing to believe that you don't take in 4000 cals.
I know that you do some days but most you don't. This is a well known fact.
I used to be the same. But then I was prescribed Mirtazapine and since I'm trying to lose weight![]()

I know patricky, I know. I was just freightened when i saw my energy go down and my weight go down even more. Generally to keep my bodyweight i need 2500 cals which is a normal day for me, i just need some variety in my diet because eventually chicken gets even more tasteless for me no matter how i cook it.
I hate chicken, ew ew ew.
I do salmon, tilapia, cat fish, sword fish, sea bass, red grouper, shrimp, scallops, pork chops, strip steak, sirlion steak, veal, etc.
Anything, I repeat....anything other than chicken. Also pizza, pizza is a great bulking food...or chinese, PHO soup, vietnamies, thai, sushi, etc.

so basically, for a good bulk my best bet is to stay out of the center aisles of the grocery store?
