    Help with Training Split

Right now things are kind of complicated with my living situation & I have not been able to workout for just over a month. I basically can't leave my dog alone at home, but I do have a friend that can watch her. I don't really want to drive every day I want to workout to my friend's house just to watch my dog. I am thinking of dropping her off on a Thursday & picking her up on Sunday.

If I do this it will leave me Thur-Sun to workout. I typically do an upper-lower-upper body split. Do you think it would be okay to squeeze in my 3 workouts during these days? I could possibly do Thur-upper, Fri-Lower and Sat/Sun-upper. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a garage or spare room? You could always cancel your gym membership and invest that money in some used equipment from Craigslist then train at home with the dog.

yeah... i can have a problematic schedule myself, but never-minding that... having my own garage gym has been the best investment I've ever made...

I've actually been looking into getting a weight set off of craigslist. I saw some pretty good deals and I think I could fit it into my bedroom. I would just have to squeeze around it when entering my room lol. The thing about getting a home weight set is that I wouldn't be able to really do squats. Well, I could do squats, but not as heavy as at the gym since I would have to be able to lift the weight overhead and put it on my shoulders.

What about the training split I mentioned above? Is that an okay split in the mean time?

If you have a restricted training schedule then any training would be better than not training, so whatever you can work in is going to be beneficial.

There are options to squat at home as well as many different ways to train your lower body without having to squat (something as simple as doing sprints could be a great workout).

Just curious - Why can't the dog stay at home alone? Maybe get a crate?

I will try to explain this without writing an entire book lol. I currently rent a room with my friend's in-laws. They are retired and rent out rooms in their house to help make ends meet. I normally leave my dog with them and their dog(my dog's mom), but they are on vacation till July(they take a lot of trips). My dog whines when left in my room because she knows other people are in the house. I don't trust leaving her out in the house because my landlord's son who lives here too has in the past left the front door open. My landlord says I can leave my dog with the son, but she is naive to his drug use and/or mental problems. A few of the things he says are:
    1. He can move objects with his mind.
    2. He somehow discovered the location of the Lost City of Atlantis w/o ever leaving his bedroom.
    3. A week later he saw somewhere that Atlantis had been found & it was exactly where he said it was located.
    4. He wants someone to fund his exploration of the North/South Pole as he looks for advanced ancient civilizations that lived below the surface of the earth.
So I refuse to trust my dog with this wacko.

I think I saw that movie...did it star Dwayne Johnson?

Are you doing an alternating upper/lower split or just upper/lower/upper? If your only looking at working legs once a week for maintenance or whatever and doing two upper body days a week then your split is just fine. Do the second upper body session on Sundays. No problem working the upper then lower body two days in a row if you choose wise exercises.
