I've already read all 5 books lol. I heard HBO is splitting the 3rd book into 2 seasons to give Martin a chance to finish books 6 and 7. Personally I think they did a great job picking the PERFECT actors to play the characters so far. Some deviations from the book, but nothing major and they seem to have kept the main plots intact.

Byron, did you feel the way I felt about dance with dragons, that is was a giant tease? Things start getting interesting and BAM book over.

This season needs more Ser Gregor.

The first season is so good I loved it. The second season was a real let down. I can't remember the last show I watched that went from being so good in the first season to so bad in the second. It was still watchable but the plot moved so slowly.

The first season something big was happening in every single episode they always left you with a WTF type moment. The second has a lot of talking with nothing really happening or things happening really slowly.

From the sounds of it seems like things are going to move a long slowly like that for the next season as well.

Dance with Dragons was a HUGE tease. So much going on then....end of the book.

As far as Ser Gregor....I definetly look forward to seeing more of him next season "You killed her, you raped her, you killed her children!"

You got that right Larry. The last 2 episodes made the whole season for sure.

They are hamstrung by their budget. The next season should be amazing as it covers the best book of the series so far.

There's some minor differences between the books and the TV series, but the differences are more to streamline things, because they can't spend 20-25 minutes on a single chapter of the books when an entire episode is 50-55minutes. I'm curious to see who they cast next season for some of the bigger roles though. It'd be nice if they would cast someone from a well known movie (ie Boromir (Sean Bean) from Lord of the Rings playing Ned Stark in Season 1)

Show is amazing..I thought season 2, although slower, was still just as good. A lot of shit still happened. They can't afford to have battle scenes every episode. The only bad episode was the one where Theon was finger banging his sister on the horse.

Unfortunately, I read the comments on some episode recaps and I already know exactly what happens to everyone through a dance with dragons =(

It's not just the battles though that I'm interested in. When I say season 2 was boring a lot of people think thats what I mean. I the problem is they have so many different story arcs going and they try to concentrate on each one in each episode which makes all the story arcs unravel very slowly.

Season 1 was better because their wasn't so many story arcs a lot of the main characters were together. Allowing them to move things along much more quickly. Now almost everyone is split up so they have to jump around from character to character slowly unraveling their story.

I've got a couple episodes left of season 1. It kind-of irritates me because it gets interesting for half an episode, then goes flat. I intend to finish it and check out season 2, but I'm not real hopeful.

Does anyone else completely hate the intro? It's like..5 times as long as any TV intro going today. Irritates me..lol

    You're pissed the seasons over?

Get this: Someone told me what happened at the end of the 3rd book. That is at the end of TWO SEASONS FROM NOW!

You don't know pissed until that happens

I've already read all 5 books, so I'll make sure to not spoil anything for you. I assume your referring to the "red wedding"? and "Wherever whores go!"

Just saw that Ian McElhinney is returning next season as Ser Barristan! One of my favorite characters from the books, and one badass mother fucker as you can tell from 1:47 onward
