    Fractional Plates

Do you know where I can find some fractional plates that don't cost an arm and a leg? Looking for plates weighing 1 lbs. Or really anything less than 2lbs all the way down to 1/4lbs. Every set I find are extremely expensive.

You can make your own from large washers, speaker magnets, or hanging small bags full of weights from the bar.

Check the McMaster Carr website. I got 6 washers for 10 bucks delivered and can now increase weight by 1.25, 2.5, and 3.75 lbs at a time.

Another option would be to get some chain and make a loop that you can slide onto the bar. It is relatively inexpensive and you can still use collars to hold the added weight in place.
