    Sonnen/Silva II

Will this fight live up to the hype or will Anderson deliver the one sided beat down everyone expected the first time? If Sonnen does well, will there be some injury Silva was suffering from again? Last time it was ribs, this time reports have made mention of a possible knee injury. Can Chael fight his fight and avoid getting subbed this time? How much of a difference will a within limits test level make? How much longer can Sliva keep up his dominance while at age 37 likely losing speed and reflexes?

This fight can turn out so many ways. I thought Sonnen actually lost to Bisping. Now Bisping may be a tougher fight for him because he has great wrestling. But, as mentioned Anderson had the rib injury the first fight and it was later proven Sonnen's test levels were out of the acceptable range. Now Silva is making statements about breaking all of Chael's bones and teeth. Can it live up to the hype?

Every fighter fights hurt. They only time any of those are healthy are when they are not training.
This is most likely Silva's last fight. I don't see any one throwing Sonnen a beating. I think Silva will fight this fight on his bike like he did Maia or Laites, and those were not fun fights to watch.

I believe Silva was hurt. Even on his back he wasn't moving and attacking like he normally does.

How this fight turns out I have no clue could be any number of ways. I just hope it's still an exciting fight.

Also Silva wasn't on his bike for the Thales fight. Watch it against Thales threw himself on his back more times then I could count every time Silva engaged. He was doing the same thing Werdum did against Reem.

Personally, I see Silva coming out on top. The guy is just too deadly and accurate with his style.

Sonnen will give him a super match though and probably test Silva better than anyone else has like he did last time.

I really like Sonnen, but Silva has proved time and time again he always is up to the challenge.

Anyone catch the animosity between these two today at the media event?

Silva is PISSED haha. Little rage might make this a really fun fight to watch.

I'm not sure why, I generally dislike athletes who go over the top with trash talk etc, but a big part of me wants Chael to win this. That said, I don't think that he will.

Hope it is a 5 round blood bath. I'd like to see a new champ to shake things up.

Yea silva was pissed. Heard an interview today though that made it sound like he was pushed to promote the fight that way.

Silva might be trolling us all at this point. He almost knocked Chael out at the weigh ins with that short shoulder.

Just watched the weigh ins. Silva looked so angry, which is great for Sonnen. At the level these guys fight at they can't fight angry, if you do you try to knock the other guy out with every punch, which makes your punches slow and gasses you out. Sonnen may have pissed Silva off enough to throw him off his game. Makes me think of Ali/Frasier.

Or Silva is playing mind games with him. He was like this against Lee Murray and brutalized him the whole fight.
I believe Sonnen could win, but he was so jacked up on test last time it makes me wonder if he can duplicate that performance within normal limits. And Silva did have that rib injury. But there are reports Silva has a hurt knee and he is 37 years old now. Last time he fought was in the fall and Chael just fought this Spring. And whatever anyone says Bisping is a much tougher opponent than Okami.

Yea Silva was pissed against Vitor and he dominated him as well.

I disagree about Bisping being tougher then Okami. Bisping is standup fighter and he would play perfectly into Andersons style. Not only that Bisping has never beat a top 10 MW and has lost to every single top 10 MW he has faced. Not saying he can't just that at this point in his career he hasn't. The UFC is so protective of Bisping that he hardly gets the chance to fight top 10 opponents. He's supposed to fight Stann next will see how that goes.

Anderson sure looked calm for someone who was supposedly more emotional than ever. I would've liked to have seen the outcome if Chael hadn't attempted that stupid spinning back fist.

Chael was already dazed before the spinning back fist thats why he just fell down. When Chaels hurt he keeps fighting like that he doesnt back off. He did the same in the Bisping fight and no one knew he was hurt. If he would have backed off Anderson would have hunted him down either way he gets KO'd.

Anderson looked much better this time stuffing shots much better. No ones beating Anderson, Chris Weidman has the best chance at it.

Plus if you watch the exchange Anderson did get his foot out to trip Sonnen on that backfist. Likely Chael would have went down anyway due to the momentum. Reports indicate Chael was gassed after the first round. Guess when his testosterone is at a normal level and he cuts a massive amount of weight, it would make sense. Master Seagal did an interview explaining the first round went according to their game plan. It appears he may have even been the one who advised Anderson to use that fantastic knee to the body.

I take what Seagal says with a grain of salt. The guy said he thought Anderson the kick that knocked out Vitor which isn't true. He just showed him some small changes he could make to the kick.

As do I method. Just put the master title jokingly. Silva is not showing signs of slowing down, is he? It has to happen sooner or later though. Some reports are saying he would go down to 170 again. Personally I would love to see an open weight with GSP, Silva, JDS, and Jones in one night. That will never happen of course, but would be sweet.

Saw this event...I couldn't believe Sonnen attempted that stupid back punch. He should have just kept doing what he did in the first round.

Did anyone else watch the prelims too? Holy fuck were some of those guys obviously juicing. Forgot the dudes name, but his listed weight was like 155 and he was just absolutely jacked. Looked about 180 or so. He did end up losing though to some russian guy.

He couldn't do what he did in the first round, because he was dead tired from round one. Silva stuffed all his takedowns and his moment was gone. In these two fights Chael had Anderson in his world for just under 30 minutes total. Anderson needed about 1 1/2 minutes in his realm to win both fights. Amazing.

Gleison Tibau, he was proabably about 185 to 190 during the fight. Big 155ers cut about that much weight.
As for AAS, its pro sports, they all use.

Glieson is part of a team who's had several fighters suspended for different things. It would be no surprise that he cheats.

No they don't all use. In fact in a random drug test only one fighter failed and it was the most obvious juicer of them all. They were all tested randomly right after a UFC press conference.

Anderson doesn't seem to be slowing down at all. I'm not so sure him slowing down would even make much difference. The guy is so skilled that even being a little slower then everyone else one make much difference standing. On top of that he has a solid chin.

Also sherdog just had a video up where steven segal says

"Some UFC fighters got their UFC championship belts... because they attributed that to me"

One of the greatest things Jon Jones has ever done IMO was when he denied Seagal access into his locker room. Seagal wanted to come talk to him and JJ wasn't having anything to do with it. He said something about not knowing what Seagal intentions were. Basically making it sound like he didn't trust the guy.
